Chapter 7 Allison's Love Life

  • Allison was startled by the woman's last question. Did the original Allison marry Asher? No, that can't be right. Did this woman seriously suggest the original Allison take sleeping pills to end her life? Did the original Allison possibly contemplate ending her life just to divorce Asher?
  • Heather continued in a seemingly caring tone, "Allison, let me tell you, if taking sleeping pills doesn't work, you can always consider cutting your wrist. I'm sure Asher would agree to divorce you then! Trust me, it's a foolproof plan!"
  • "Did you suggest I take sleeping pills?" Allison snapped out of her daze, glaring at the woman before her.
  • Heather looked surprised. "Yes!" We talked about this, didn't we? How can this fool forget? Allison was dumbstruck. Her expression turned frosty in an instant. This woman is ruthless!
  • "Allison," Heather remarked upon noticing Allison's silence, gently grasping her hand lovingly. "If Asher continues to refuse the divorce, just cut your wrists as a public statement and involve the media. Under pressure, Asher will have no choice but to divorce you. After all, your marriage isn't known to the public..."
  • Allison impatiently withdrew her hand from Heather's grasp, her eyes now reflecting an unfamiliar coldness. "I'm sorry, Heather, but I no longer want a divorce!" Despite lacking emotional attachment to Asher, she found him physically attractive. But now, she simply wanted to distance herself from this woman.
  • "What did you just say?" Heather's eyes widened in disbelief upon hearing Allison's words. "You... you don't want a divorce?" The composure she attempted to maintain faltered at that moment.
  • "Shouldn't you be happy for me since I don't want a divorce?" Allison's deliberate tone matched her fixed gaze on Heather's heavily made-up face, curious to witness how this woman would continue her charade.
  • "But Allison, weren't you planning to be with Wilmer?" Heather responded quickly, flashing a smile as she feigned confusion.
  • Allison's mind raced with questions. Why didn't the original Allison desire a handsome, wealthy husband like Asher? Was she out of her mind? Why did she want to be with someone as sleazy as Wilmer? Suddenly, it dawned on her. Wilmer's intentions became clear. When he pursued the original Allison, he merely wanted to use her to access half of Asher's wealth.
  • Observing Allison's silence, Heather presumed she had successfully convinced her friend and pressed on. "Allison, your marriage to Asher was dictated by Asher's grandfather. You both lack genuine affection for each other, so why force yourselves to remain together? You and Wilmer love each other. Now that Talia is gone, nothing can prevent you from being with Wilmer once you divorce Asher."
  • "Wilmer and I love each other?" Allison's lips curved tauntingly. "How deep does our love truly run?"
  • Heather appeared surprised. "Allison, are you feeling alright? You confided in me last time that Wilmer harbors feelings for you, and his relationship with Talia was merely a façade. Now that Talia has tragically passed in a car accident, nothing stands in the way of you and Wilmer being together."
