Chapter 2 A Little Party

• Iris' nanny who has lived with her since she was 12,Alice( who is 30 years old and more like an elder sister) rushed over to iris' room. Iris was getting ready for the party.
• "Hi little princess, guess what." Alice said winking at Iris 'What now Alice? I'm a bad guesser" Iris said.
• "Your prince charming is here" Alice voice was filled with excitement.
• "My prince charming? Who? Iris asked 'Oh c'mon Iris. Your Ian. Ian Santiago, Anastasia Santiago's younger brother, your childhood friend and crush"
• "Ian is here? Iris blushed.
• "Yes. He's looking so handsome and hot in that formal attire. So dashing, so cute and sexy. It's my first time seeing Ian in a tuxedo. He looks so manly and hot. I mean, he looks well built. Oh my Iris, you're so lucky"
• "Alice, c'mon. You're exaggerating his appearance. I bet his himself. I mean, he's just normal like other guys" Iris looked away and smiled.
• "What ? No girly, if you ain't interested, I am 100% interested. Gush, so hot" Alice fanned herself with her hands. " I'm hot too" she laughed.
• "Alice, c'mon, he's younger than you. You're 30 and he's 25 "C'mon. Age is just a number. Love knows no bounds. So dashing. I love him "
• Cathlin walked in and saw them talking "Alice, Iris, why are you wasting time? Cathlin asked them "Nothing, we're right behind you mum" Iris said with a smile.
• "So dashing. I like him" Alice teased Iris further.
• Alice and Iris left for the ballroom, Iris heart skipped a beat. It's been long she met Ian. She wondered what he looked like. She's worried that Ian might be exactly what Alice told her earlier. She's worried if Ian would like her. She checked her make up before walking into the ballroom. She exchanged pleasantries with some guests and joined her parents. Anastasia hugged her and gave her the gift she brought. Ian had forgot his gift and had gone to pick it from the car. Iris thanked Anastasia for coming. Not long Ian joined them. Ian pretended not to recognize Iris just to tease her. Iris was happy to meet him and hugged him, which made him uncomfortable. Anastasia told Ian to ask Iris for a dance. Ian refused and Anastasia gave him the usual scary look, with her eyebrows raised and a Stern look on her face which made Ian immediately ask Iris for a dance.
• Ian and Iris approached the dance floor. Iris placed her hands on Ian's shoulders and Ian placed his hands on her waist. Iris tried to make eye contacts with Ian who avoided it dozens of time. Iris spined and Ian held her from back and she blushed. She faced him and her heart beat increased quickly and she leaned on his chest. Ian was uncomfortable with everything. He hoped the dance ends soon. Finally the music stopped and he broke off from her arms and left the ballroom.
• Iris grabbed two glasses of wine and left to find him. She saw him and tried calling him when she noticed a girl approach him and the girl hugged him, and kissed his cheeks. Ian kissed her cheeks and she held his hands while they talked.
• Iris stepped aside and tried to exercise patience while Ian talked with the girl. They talked for a while before the girl left. Iris went to him and gave him a glass of wine.
• "Why are you here alone? Outside. The party is inside" Iris asked.
• "I prefer it here especially without you " Ian teased her and drank from his wine glass.
• "What? Well... how have you been?
• "I've been ok. You're still alive. Wow!
• "What? Am I supposed to be dead?
• "You're always sick. Back then, you almost spent your life in the hospital"
• " Well... that's a lie. I didn't spend most of my life in the hospital. Just visited the hospital for routine check-up, that's all"
• " Okay. "
• " You don't believe me?
• "How did you cope there?
• "I had to cope in other to see you again'
• "Don't, please. Cringe, goodness"
• "I really missed you Ian. Are you single?
• "Why? Well, I broke up with my girlfriend two weeks ago. No girl yet. Why? Did you find me a sexy girl?
• "Sexy what? Naughty you "
• "Don't act holy, I swear you ain't a...
• "Ian! Geed. It's no use talking to you '
• "Hold on are you still a... Virgin?
• "Is it a sin to be one?
• "Oh my gush. You are lying.
• "Oh goodness. Whether I am or not, it's of no use"
• "Yes. You were lying. You're not one. Who did it?
• "Gross. I'm leaving '
• "Tell me. I need to give him a handshake, with a sick girl like you. Wow!
• "Ian... ! That's rude. First of all, I'm not a such girl and secondly, it's rude to say such things. Whether I'm a virgin or not, it's my business" Iris angrily walked out on Ian.
• Iris returned back to the ballroom. Ian laughed hard for successfully teasing her. Anastasia noticed Iris mood and went to her.
• "Iris, nice party" Anastasia said "Thank You "
• "How have you been?
• "I've been okay and you?
• "Fine. Why are you sad?
• "I'm not. I'm just maybe stressed out"
• "Did Ian say something to you?
• "Well... not really. He's still the old Ian I know "
• "He teased you again. Naughty boy. Don't worry, I'll take care of him. Come visit us as often as you want. We're practically family. Your parents practically raised Ian and I as their kids. So I see you as my younger sister"
• "Don't say that. Ah, don't see me as your younger sister. See me as your younger friend. Siblings don't get married to each other "
• "Funny You. Smile okay? Always keep smiling."
• The party ended well and Anastasia and Ian arrived at their house. Anastasia stopped Ian from going to his room.
• "What did you say to Iris at the party you punk"
• "Nothing, normal talk. Adult talks"
• "Adult what? What's that?
• "Nothing much, just asked her if she has a boyfriend. She started it by asking me if I'm single and how many girls I've dated. I just redirected the same question to her "
• "Ian I know you very well. What did you actually say to her that ruined her mood?
• "Uhh.. C'mon sis, I'm so tired. Good night "
• "Ian, I'm cutting your allowance "
• "Huh? No allowance? I'll become broke? No. C'mon sis, let this slide. Please... I love you "
• Ian kissed her cheek and rushed off to his room while Anastasia left for hers.
• Two days later, Iris decided to pay a visit to Anastasia. She had informed Anastasia before coming over. Iris requested Alice to come with her. Iris picked out a nice fruit basket and baked some cookies and cup cakes which she took with her to visit Anastasia and Ian. Iris and Alice arrived at Ian's home. Anastasia welcomed them in and offered them snacks. Iris handed over the things she brought to Anastasia. Anastasia kept them safe in the kitchen and returned back to Alice and Iris.
