Anton had told her to go and visit Simon if it would at least make her feel at ease. He had decided to stay back. Adolpha felt really sad about the news last night—she wasn't even aware that she slept in her brother's arms. When she woke up, she found herself on her bed, and Anton was seated on the couch watching over her. Perhaps he was scared that she might try to hurt herself again, so he stayed behind.
