Chapter 17 I Have A Plan

• In the following days I made a lot of effort to be close to Mercedes.
• She refused to attend the diners in the packhouse after the first fiasco. Her father had a serious conversation with mine about this. The Beta eventually convinced him that it was better not to force Mercedes into something she was not interested in. By then, I knew I have to change my plan to win her over.
• I started paying more attention to her, completely abandoning my homeboys. I explained to my friends that I would not be able to deal with them for a while because I wanted to win Mercedes for me. Of course, I knew they wouldn't keep this information to themselves, and the whole pack would soon realize I've got my eyes on the Beta's daughter.
