Chapter 10 Double Trouble

• The ray of the sun coming from the open window cast a glow of the shining glass right at the back of the room on my face, disturbing my sleep.
• I rolled to the side and tried yawning, but a wave of intense discomfort washed over me. My eyes were on fire. The redness and irritation I had experienced the previous day was nothing compared to my current state.
• I could barely open my eyes because of the maddening sting from the punishment I subjected myself to at the tannery. Since I didn’t want the maid to feel bad or scared, I decided to keep it low and lay there until an unexpected guest came in.
