• The sensual tension in the air prickled between us as Killian's eyes went over my body, again and again. I couldn't hide the satisfaction that was rooted in my smile at his tumult. At least he knows exactly the kind of torture he subjects me to. Adie's presence was within me, encouraging me the more.
• His gaze hungrily swept through me. He was losing what little control he had over himself. I smiled to myself. Good. I was fucking sick of being the one clinging to Killian when he felt the mate bond as much as I did. It wasn't fair that I was the only one subjected to the pain of the mate bond.
