Chapter 67 His Baby

  • The wait was beginning to look like a gruesome torment. No one was saying anything and no one had stepped out of the room except for a nurse who ran out and ran back in without offering a single explanation to what her condition might be.
  • Cain had left to trace the bastards who hurt her and I was left alone, with my mind and Ares in chaos. I paced to and fro for what looked like eternity. I thought about barging into that room for a millionth time and thought against it for another million times. Standing there, not knowing what was going on, if she was making it or not, if she was fine or not, if she was awake or not had me reeling with different thoughts. All bad, all negative, all scary.
  • When I could no longer hold it in, I slammed my fist into a hall. A hole appeared where concrete was in an instance. Ares growled at me. That didn’t do shit. It didn’t take away my worry or panic. Nothing was going to help me feel better, not when Isabella was still in there with no one saying anything to me.
