Chapter 6 'First' Meeting With Lucian

  • THIRD PERSON POV
  • From the very moment Isabella Cruz walked in, Lucian had not been himself. And it annoyed him that he noticed her from the very moment she stepped in.
  • Was she looking grand? No.
  • Did power ooze off her? No.
  • She was nothing. Too ordinary for a wolf. Even a wolf as small as Ever Green pack.
  • Yet, from afar off, she glowed and lit up the room with a grace that no one else carried.
  • He could feel Ares panting from within, like a love sick puppy in need of attention.
  • He could feel the excitement at the sight of her from deep within his very core. And it simply annoyed him.
  • She had insulted him, stomped on his name and pride.
  • He wanted to teach her a lesson, not because he was attracted to her or because that night seemed to be stuck in his head even as he stared at her from afar but because he was Lucian Blackwood and only just wanted to teach her a lesson. That was all it was.
  • “You really have to stop doing this to yourself.” Ares snorted.
  • “Stop it.” He growled, in warning to his wolf, yet his eyes followed her. Unlike the others, she looked small, small for a wolf, too fragile for a wolf, too graceful for their kind.
  • She looked like a girl who needed to be shielded away from the rest of the world. Maybe that was why her father treated her like a princess.
  • He somehow understood why she was called the princess of the Ever Green pack. She carried that title well, even in the way she walked and sipped from a glass. He suddenly wished he was the glass her lips touched.
  • His thoughts travelled back to that night and the taste of her lips resonated in his mind. Like electricity, it swarmed around his body.
  • “Hm hm…” Ares mocked at his thoughts and he groaned.
  • “She still owes me, isn’t that the whole reason she is here?” He grumbled.
  • “You need to be knocked in the head, that’s for sure.” Ares remarked.
  • Lucian groaned. Ares had always been that way, too naughty, too talkative, too angry. He was too much of everything. But lately, his overbearing nature was pissing him off.
  • But Lucian kept watching her, not sure why he wasn’t walking up to her and demanding for an apology or completion of his supposed payment or a revisit to that night, which he wanted more than anything else.
  • He just watched her till the chaos had started and the little princess found herself in trouble.
  • At first, he had no idea who the Jax was, but with their little banter got the full gist.
  • Her response, however, was not one he bargained for.
  • The little princess was a fierce little cat. And she roared, shutting her opponent up with more grace than the entire room could carry.
  • “She is a little vixen, we definitely like…” Ares was beyond proud. He rolled his eyes. But he could not help but nod his head in agreement. His desire for her growing in waves.
  • “Our little Vixen.” He smiled, watching as everyone else did.
  • Then that slap came and damn, he wanted to give her a round of applause. Till the bastard growled, threatening her. Ares lost it almost immediately and his growl shook the room.
  • Lucian started towards them, his eyes on the both of them. His aura expanded as his rage pulsed in his vein and his wolf ran mad within, pushing to break through and break forth.
  • It was the first time he lost control over his wolf, it was the first time his wolf lost himself and it surprised him.
  • “Ares, you need to stop it.” He warned, pushing back at the wolf with more effort than could be seen and quietly regaining control before he stopped in front of them.
  • The hall was quiet and they all waited for the sheep to be called to slaughter.
  • “Miss Cruz…” His grey eyes landed on her face without sparing Jax another glance. Ares might tear him apart.
  • Isabella’s heart skipped and for a moment, all she wanted to do was disappear. The Blackwood prince, a royal amongst royals.
  • He was handsome beyond doubt, with grey eyes that were like ice and black full hair, styled and bouncy.
  • His chiselled chin and long nose sharpened the look on his face, leaving him to be a man that was and could easily be desired even by her.
  • However, she raised her gaze to him, keeping a calm façade till his lips almost thinned into a smile.
  • Just to taunt her, he took a step closer and for a split second saw the tremble that ran through her skin. Yet, she didn’t back away and met his gaze with one of hers.
  • “Come with me.” He simply said and turned away.
  • “Why?” She wanted to ask, but she knew she would sound too miserable to speak at that very moment. Her knees were weak underneath her and she wasn’t sure what she would sound like if she spoke. So, she remained mute and reluctantly followed behind him as people around snickered.
  • Finding herself in a more enclosed space made reality sink in quicker than expected. And she immediately snapped out of reverie of him.
  • The mini office was quite bigger than what her father had, yet, it felt so hot in there. And Lucian did not stop staring at her like she was some kind of antique or show that amused him.
  • His gaze swept over her skin making everything far worse than it should be.
  • She was already in a lot of trouble before coming there, but causing trouble at his party and being called out amongst others didn’t help.
  • “If you must know….” Her voice came out more squeaky than intended. She swallowed, then she started again.
  • “I never intended to cause trouble at your party.” She raised her gaze to meet his. His grey eyes pierced right through her, like a blade of ice.
  • “They are beautiful.” Her thought whispered right before she shook her head and took a deep breath.
  • “Uhmmm…” she looked around, hoping for some sort of ventilation. There was none.
  • “I’m sorry if I caused trouble for you.” She continued when he didn’t say anything.
  • The corner of his lips stretched into a small smile right before he got up and turned to the seat beside his desk. If he didn’t, he might want to take her there and then.
  • He sat down and directed her to do the same. She did exactly that. But he didn’t speak immediately because his wolf returned.
  • “Are you really going to ask her to pay up? Isn’t this the same thing as soliciting for sex?”
