Chapter 6 The Gathering At Wolf Gang

  • Inside the office, Huxley steadily closed the distance, causing Lorcan to stumble backward and crash into the table.
  • “You're out of time!” Huxley said as the countdown on his wristwatch officially hit zero.
  • At that very moment, the door was forcefully knocked open.
  • Bang! Bang! Bang!
  • The three brothers from the Zander family, who had been on guard outside, along with their bodyguards and security personnel, all rushed in at once.
  • Suddenly, the entire office was packed with people, and every possible exit for Huxley was thoroughly blocked.
  • “Freeze!”
  • “Make a move and you're done for!”
  • “We'll shoot you without hesitation!”
  • Everyone was voicing their anger and reprimanding him loudly.
  • Huxley stood tall and unmoving, an image of unshakeable resolve. His face bore no trace of fear.
  • Aloysius turned his head and asked for guidance. “Dad, what should we do with him?”
  • An uncertain look crossed Lorcan's face as he said, “This man is too dangerous! We can't keep him around! Deal with him!”
  • “Affirmative!” Aloysius's eyes flashed with a vicious glint as he raised his gun.
  • At that moment, a female secretary burst in from outside, exclaiming in alarm, “There's a huge crowd outside!”
  • Lorcan's eyes twitched as he said, “Barrett, go see what's going on!”
  • “On it!” Barrett replied and strode out.
  • He had just reached the door when Jasper Freeman, a tattooed burly man, appeared like a bolt of lightning.
  • Jasper swiftly lifted the butt of the submachine gun and struck it hard against Barrett's face.
  • Thud!
  • It broke Barrett's nose, causing it to bleed profusely.
  • “Get on your knees and put your hands on your head!” Jasper's voice boomed like thunder.
  • Following that, a swarm of heavily tattooed men burst in from outside, moving with swift aggression.
  • Each of them, armed with submachine guns, stormed in and forcefully subdued the bodyguards in a brutal onslaught.
  • Anyone who dared to resist was immediately shot dead in a hail of bullets.
  • Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
  • It was utter chaos as the sound of gunfire echoed loudly.
  • The office was left in a state of utter disarray, but the assault took barely over a minute.
  • In no time at all, all the bodyguards were subdued and handcuffed on the ground.
  • Fearing they would get shot in the chaos, Lorcan and the three brothers from the Zander family huddled down and covered their heads.
  • Lorcan glanced up slightly, his gaze falling upon the menacing wolf head pattern tattooed on the individuals before him. A shudder ran through his heart as he realized what it was. Wolf Gang!
  • Wolf Gang was a major gang that held sway far and wide.
  • Their strength was only second to established gangs like Nine Dragons Gang, Verdant Gang, or Hawkson Gang.
  • There were easily over a hundred thousand gang members, each of them notoriously ruthless and domineering.
  • They were the kind who would kill a hundred of their enemies in retaliation for each of their own gang member killed.
  • No one dared to provoke them at all.
  • At that moment, Jasper, who was leading the group, approached Huxley. He bowed respectfully and exclaimed, “The two hundred gang members on the streets outside have already been subdued, Mr. Carrington! The entire building is now under our control. Should we eliminate them all? If not, how should we handle this situation? Please give us your orders, Mr. Carrington!”
  • As Huxley waved his hand, Jasper moved to the side, standing upright with his hands on his hips, ready to receive his instructions at any given moment.
  • Upon witnessing this scene, a realization abruptly dawned on Lorcan. He exclaimed in shock, “Y-You're from Wolf Gang?”
  • Huxley took two steps forward, looking down at him as if he were peering at an insignificant ant. Shaking his head, he said, “Wolf Gang belongs to me.”
  • Lorcan felt as if he was going to faint from fear. Grinding his teeth, he said, “You mustn't hurt me! I'm under Mr. Ziko's protection!”
  • “Mr. Ziko, huh? Are you referring to Sheldon Ziko, the chairman of Quadfield Finance Association?” Huxley asked, his face devoid of any emotion.
  • “I'm glad you know who he is!” Lorcan exclaimed, his joy comparable to someone who had gotten his hands on a lifeline.
  • Huxley's eyes were filled with sympathy as he spoke, “I'd already taken out Sheldon with a single shot before I arrived, and he wasn't the only one I killed. I have already dealt with your entire umbrella of protection, including the vice president of the Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Meyer, and Chairman Ludlow of Tempest Group. They are either already dead or on my side now. Do you understand the situation you're in? You're all on your own now.”
  • Those words left Lorcan stunned for quite some time before he cried out, “Impossible! Impossible!”
  • In a frenzy, he grabbed his phone and dialed Sheldon's number.
  • Beep! Beep! Beep!
  • Unfortunately, the call could not get through.
  • “The number you have dialed is currently switched off.”
  • Still refusing to accept reality, Lorcan tried calling Kevin Meyer, the vice president of the Chamber of Commerce.
  • However, he was greeted with the same automated message.
  • Lorcan then tried calling everyone from his umbrella of protection, one after another.
  • The outcome was the same—no one answered his calls.
  • In the end, his mind went completely blank. His phone slipped from his grasp, crashing onto the ground and shattering into pieces.
  • “W-Who exactly are you?” For the first time ever, Lorcan felt true fear.
  • “A person who'd bury the world for the sake of revenge,” Huxley replied softly.
  • Lorcan slumped down like a deflated balloon. He stared helplessly at his office, which was no longer under his control, and let out a wry chuckle.
  • This time, he had truly hit a snag.
