• Antoine, intrigued, looked up and saw thirteen golden needles resting in Huxley's palm. Seven were large, six were smaller. Each needle was round and radiant, their sharpness evident and their craftsmanship resembling extraordinary pieces of art. They appeared as though they had formed naturally, rather than being crafted by a master craftsman.
• Antoine stared at the golden needles in shock, as though struck by lightning. He sat up straight, his face a shifting canvas of emotions. In utter astonishment, he exclaimed, “You! You!”
