Chapter 326

• We passed the time that afternoon simply relaxing. We talked, had the occasional glass of wine, and just enjoyed being together. We discussed the future. We considered how a hypothetical baby or our various careers might have an impact on our desires. It was an ideal way to burn a few hours.
• Katie returned from the spa and hugged each of the girls when she walked in. My mind wandered where it probably shouldn't have. I considered how she might fit in with the others, a fantasy stoked by the fact that she had just sat down with Kat, Jess, and Rita, tucked her feet underneath herself on the couch, and joined the conversation seamlessly.
• "How was the spa?" Jess asked.
