Chapter 4
- Zanaya's POV
- California: Are you sure you're okay going alone?
- Cali worriedly asks me via text message perhaps still hoping that I will change my mind.
- Before I went out of the house earlier, Cali had tried everything she could to talk me out of this while Tokyo and Max hug each other behind her.
- It is the first time that I would ever go out without them, and without them knowing why and where I would go.
- But since it's something that even our boss knew, they can't do anything about it.
- "Hey, if this is something weird, you know you can tell us right?" Max said.
- "We are worried about you. Why can't you tell us what's happening?" Tokyo asked.
- I smiled at them. "It's a family matter and I am grateful enough that our boss understood."
- I each gave them a hug. "Don't worry about me. I'll be back before you guys even know it." I assured them.
- The three were just outside our dorm's door as they try to persuade me to allow at least one of them to go with me.
- That's a no-no obviously since I will be spending my whole day with Seth and his family.
- I firmly said no, of course, and our manager had backed me up because he has strong orders from our boss about this.
- My manager isn't really aware of my situation but our boss had told him to drop me off to wherever I will go and never allow anyone to come with me.
- Our managers never asked things and I was glad about it. I'm not really comfortable lying.
- But yeah, you're still lying right now. I thought to myself.
- Upon realizing that I'm almost over the house where Seth's parents were staying, I quickly typed a message in response to California then kept my phone on my bag.
- I pulled up my hooded jacket hiding the color of my hair and covered my face with a black mask.
- I purposely wore black jeans instead of my usual skirts and shorts attire since I'll be meeting with my in-laws.
- Inside my big hooded jacket is a loose white collared polo, the front section carefully tucked on my pants. I decided to just wear rubber shoes.
- I want to keep things simple.
- Once I arrive outside the house, I bowed to my manager before he goes and asks me to call him anytime I need something.
- I carefully walked towards the door and key-in the door passcode which Seth had texted me earlier.
- That silly man. He actually used our wedding anniversary as the passcode as if rubbing in that he was the one who remembered about it.
- Not that it mattered because we don't actually care for each other.
- Right?
- Once the door opened, I was surprised by the warm hug of Seth's mother.
- I looked to the side and saw Seth shrugging his shoulders.
- "Congratulations sweetie on your debut. We've watched and we're so proud of you." she warmly greeted as she released me from the hug
- "Thank you, Mom." I shyly responded.
- Seth's mom had insisted that I call her Mom during our wedding and of course, I gave in. His mom is such a sweetheart and so is his dad.
- I hugged Seth's dad once his mom stepped back a little.
- "You've become thinner Zanaya." he worriedly said as he released me from the hug. And then his father had turned to Seth.
- "Hey, what were you doing Seth? Are you not taking care of your wife?" he scolded his son.
- My face blushed a little. I'm still not used to being called his wife.
- "Are you not going to greet your wife Seth? How rude." her mom pointed out.
- "Oh, No. We just saw each other last time" I told them, afraid that Seth might get in trouble because of her.
- If that happens, this little ball of shit might take it out on me again and I don't want that.
- I was startled when I noticed him walked towards me, my eyes able to scan him unintentionally.
- How is he able to look hot on black ripped pants and white polo dress?
- Fuck, are we actually almost twinning?
- I realized that we are wearing almost the same clothes. That's what makes me don't wanna remove my jacket.
- Once he reached in front of me. He immediately pulled me in a hug and I felt my body stiffen a little, not used with the sudden contact. It seems that he's okay with it but I swear it was so awkward for me.
- My heart started pounding inside my chest a little faster and I can feel all the butterflies going crazy inside my stomach.
- My arms automatically went up and went around his back, making it look like I'm hugging him back.
- Ge'ez, I hope he doesn't hear the loud beating on my chest.
- As much as I hate to admit it, Seth had that effect on me.
- I won't deny that I had a crush on him even before we officially met but I thought I've thrown all of those stupid feelings when he decided to become a jerk towards me.
- I sigh internally. So I guess I'm back to square one huh.
- I didn't even notice that we were hugging way too long until I heard his father cough.
- "I guess you missed each other." her mom squealed.
- I immediately pushed him away from me, my cheeks blushing.
- "Zanaya, my baby, why don't you give your jacket to Seth so he can hang it on the corner." her mom added.
- "Oh no." I decline. "It's fine," I added. I don't think I can let Seth see how we accidentally ended up twinning with our clothes.
- "Don't be stupid. Let me get that for you." I was caught off guard when Seth moved closer and reached for the zipper of my hooded jacket. Before I know it, he had already zipped my jacket down, showing what I was wearing inside.
- I looked at him and saw him smirking.
- "What?" I asked him
- He just shook his head.
- I moved a little farther away from him. Then, I removed my jacket and placed it on the armrest on the couch.
- I looked around the house and was glad that it looks comfortable.
- It wasn't really that big, just enough for a few people to stay together.
- I'm guessing there are two rooms on it, a kitchen, a dining room, and a living room. I can also see a restroom just beside the kitchen door.
- "You two stay here while we prepare the dining room." her mom said. I quickly stood up to help.
- "No sweetie. Stay here with your husband. You're both busy so you should use this time to be with each other." his mom smiled meaningfully while she pulled his husband to the kitchen.
- I had no choice but to sit back down.
- "Why? Do you hate staying in a room with me that much?" he said breaking the silence that is filling in the room.
- I looked at him, his arms are spread wide on the couch while his legs are crossed.
- He looked so hot but regardless, he's still the same jerk Seth Devon that I know.
- "Is it that obvious?" I retort back. I saw his face frown.
- "Whatever," he muttered.
- And then his phone rang. He pulled it out but he looked a little reluctant as he stares at me.
- "If that's your girlfriend, you can go answer. I don't mind." I told him as I bring my phone out as well so I have something better to do.
- While I was checking out the responses on our video on Youtube, I laugh a little when I read something funny on one of the comments.
- It's cute. The fans are shipping us girls with each other.
- But I like it more than be linked to some random guy anyways.
- "Yes, Grey. I already met Mom and Dad. They're in the kitchen" I heard Seth replied.
- "Sethie!"
- "Your voice was too loud, Sky!"
- "Why Storm? I just miss our Sethie."
- "You literally just saw him an hour ago, Sky."
- "Hey, Seth. Make sure to send our regards to your parents."
- I looked up from my phone and saw Seth grinning while his face glued on the screen on his phone.
- He was videocalling his bandmates.
- I stare at him and saw how happy he looked.
- For once, I thought I'm seeing the same Seth Devon that the whole world knows, and not the Seth that is cold towards me.
- My brows furrowed and I heard a familiar melody playing.
- Seth's phone was on loudspeaker so I can hear their conversation.
- I looked at Seth and he seems to panic a little.
- "Hey, Mono, stop the music. I can't hear you."
- "What? Tss. Shut up Seth. You were even jamming with us yesterday."
- His eyes grew wide, I had to stop the urge to laugh.
- I can even hear Sky and Grey singing along with the music with Mono and Storm screaming the lyrics out of tune.
- "Hey nooooo!"
- "Lalalala lalalala!!!"
- So, SHADOW was jamming with our song, I can actually die.
- "I swear, I love Zanaya. Her voice is just so amazing" I had to catch my breath as I heard Demo saying my name.
- "Hey, did you hear Tokyo's rap?" Mono exclaimed.
- "Boombayahhh!!!" I swear it was Grey and Sky again.
- I watch Seth whose face was already red in embarrassment.
- Then I got the scare of my life when Seth's mom's voice echoed the room "Hey, Seth, the food is ready. Come here with your wife."
- The other line went dead silent. My heart beating loudly.
- "Wait, did your mom said wife?" Raze asked. The music no longer blasting on the other line and the boys were silent expecting an answer.
- Seth looked at me while he scratches the back of his head.
- "Hey, my mom was talking about my brother. Why would I have a wife?" he said immediately.
- "I thought so. I was scared for a second." Raze added.
- "I need to go. I'll see you guys soon," he said as he waves goodbye to the boys, my eyes not leaving his direction.
- Once the video call ended, I looked at him sternly.
- "You almost got us into trouble."
- He just shrugged as he stood up and made his way to the kitchen not even bothering to wait for me.
- Jerk.
- Once we finished dinner, all four of us stayed in the living room mainly with his parents asking a lot of things. Most about our job and some about how we were both doing.
- I felt really bad every time we lie about seeing each other sometimes or texting and calling each other every available time that we have.
- It was past 8 when I decided to send a message to my manager to come to pick me up.
- His parents were already taking a rest in their bedroom so it was just me and Seth on the living room, waiting for my manager.
- "So, I heard you'll be guesting in Silverman"
- I was surprised when he suddenly spoke. He was talking about a variety show that I am soon guesting along with the girls.
- "Yes."
- He just nodded. I decided to piss him off a little.
- "Why are you suddenly interested in knowing my schedule anyways? That is so not you." I told him.
- I swear I saw guilt flashed through his eyes but it was too fast I thought I saw it wrong.
- "Of course, Mom sometimes asks about you."
- Of course, why would he bother anyway?
- "I never knew that you jam that hard to our music" I raised my eyebrows on him
- He looked flustered.
- "Don't flatter yourself too much. It isn't like that."
- "Yep. That's what you said." I sarcastically responded.
- It wasn't long before I receive a text message that my manager was already outside.
- "I have to go," I told him before I stood up.
- I grab my jacket as I move towards the front door.
- I was having a hard time trying to zip my jacket when a pair of cute little hands started pulling it up for me.
- My breath hitch when I realized that his face was so close to mine.
- Then, I felt him grab the mask on my hand while he fixes the hood on my jacket.
- "What are you doing?" I whisper. I hate it when my voice cracked a little.
- He smirked at me.
- "I am taking care of my wife. Isn't it obvious?" he said before he put my mask on my face leaving me all confused.
- I'm not even sure what happened but just before I opened the front door, I felt him spun me around and his lips landed on my forehead.
- Then I heard him whisper something before he gently ushered me out.
- Once I was inside the car, my hands automatically landed on my chest, the loud beating inevitable, remembering what he whispered just before I went out.
- "I'll see you soon sweetie."
- Seth Devon, what were you doing?
