Chapter 10 "Together In The City" (2)
- I clenched my jaw and shot him a look. Then I exclaimed, "I was only asking a question! And!" However, I was cut off as Lucas leaned in closer, his eyes narrowed.
- "Well then, Do you want to do it again with me? Huh, Master?" he whispered.
- My jaw dropped in shock.
- Why did our conversation suddenly shift like this?
- I shouldn't have brought up the topic in the first place.
- "Well, if you're game, we could always take this outside. I'm down for that," Lucas suggested, a sly smile playing on his lips.
- 'S*x outside?!' I mentally screamed. I was at a loss for words, unsure of what to feel.
- And then, Lucas took my silence as an answer.
- "They say silence implies consent. And since you're not saying no, I'll take that as a yes." With that, he grabbed my hand and led me into a dark alleyway.
- I should have refused! I need to end this! I scolded myself desperately. However, despite my best intentions, I couldn't resist his alluring charm, his captivating scent, and everything about him that drew me deeper into the darkness.
- The moment we entered the deserted alley, Lucas gently pushed me against the wall. Our eyes locked, and in an instant, he passionately kissed my lips.
- "Mmm..." I tried to stop him. "W-Wait..." But like a helpless prey caught in a trap, I found myself paralyzed by his seduction.
- Every time his tongue intertwined with mine, I couldn't resist. It was irresistible.
- In the dim light, Lucas's red eyes widened as I struggled to open my eyes and saw him staring at me. "Are you scared?" He pulled back, studying my face.
- I shyly shook my head. "N-Not scared. Just, people might catch us."
- Lucas gently caressed my cheeks, moving closer and softly brushing his lips against mine. Our noses touched, and his captivating scent made me feel intoxicated.
- "Don't worry. People won't care," he whispered.
- With a tender touch, he pressed his tongue against the seam of my lips as if asking for permission to enter.
- I allowed him access as I opened my lips, letting out a moan as our tongues intertwined.
- I wasn't entirely sure what was going on. And honestly, I hated how exposed I felt under his touch.
- "You should have told me sooner that you've been craving this again, huh," he murmured.
- But all I could manage was a soft moan, "Hmm."
- The intense kiss grew even more passionate. Lucas playfully nibbled at every corner of my mouth, leaving me breathless.
- I couldn't help but let out a loud sound, causing him to pull back.
- His warm breath brushed against my face as I lifted my head to meet his gaze, which was solely focused on me. "Relax. It was just a kiss," he reassured me.
- His words annoyed me, but not because of him. I was frustrated with myself.
- "Why am I... Why am I letting this rogue have such an effect on me?" I silently questioned myself.
- Unable to find an answer, I bit my lip hard as if trying to erase the lingering warmth Lucas had left behind. But then, he gently placed his thumb on my lip.
- "Don't bite it. That's my job," Lucas said.
- He grinned at me. In the dim alley, I could see his canine teeth, revealing his beastly nature.
- 'I was truly captivated by a handsome rogue.'
- "Open your mouth for me, Master," Lucas demanded.
- As if I was hypnotized, I detached my lips.
- "Good," he praised.
- He was leaning in for another kiss when our intimate moment was abruptly interrupted by the sound of boisterous laughter reverberating through the alley.
- I turned my head towards the noise, pushed Lucas away, and peered outside.
- "Get whatever you desire! I'll cover the expenses!" the voice declared, provoking me.
- I recognized the owner of that voice. It was none other than my fiancé, Alpha Alex of Shadow Pack.
- As I glanced outside, I saw Alex strolling with two stunning she-wolves hanging onto his arms.
- "Are you absolutely certain about this, Alpha Alex?" a sultry woman, dressed provocatively, inquired.
- The woman interjected, "I heard you were engaged to Alpha Connor's daughter. Your fiancée wouldn't be pleased if she knew you were spending money on other women."
- Alex, a chubby elderly man of small stature, retorted, "My wealth is what saves my fiancée. Without it, she and her family would be like beggars!"
- "So, you're not marrying her out of love then? Or maybe for a mate bond?"
- "Love? Mate? Hah!" Alex laughed. "I do look forward to being intimate with her. Harriet appears fragile and pure. I can't wait to witness her pleasure under my touch. And once I tire of it, I'll just discard her."
- Disgusting.
- REALLY. THAT MAN IS DISGUSTING!
- For a brief moment, I had been distracted by Lucas. But thanks to Alex, I was reminded of my reality.
- Yes, this is my pitiful life.
- Engaged to an old, wealthy Alpha who didn't care about her feelings. All he wanted was my youthful body. And I, the puppet of my Alpha family, had no choice but to accept this fate.
- "Calix," suddenly, Lucas's voice broke through.
- I turned my head toward him and noticed the menacing vibe on his face.
- And then, Calix appeared from the shadow.
- "What can I do for you, Sir?" Calix replied.
- Lucas announced, "The tour's over. Take Harriet back to the mansion."
- Calix nodded and responded, "Of course, Sir."
- "Wait a minute!" I interjected, grabbing Lucas's arm, unsure of why I felt the need to stop him. But his expression hinted at something sinister. "What do you have planned?" I inquired.
- Lucas flashed a grin at me before releasing his arm from my grip. "Just take the opportunity I'm giving you - that was our agreement, right? So, if I offer you a chance to escape from that old man, take it."
- He signaled to Calix to escort me out of there immediately. Calix wasted no time and followed his instructions.
- "Miss Harriet," Calix said, taking my hand. "We need to leave." He pulled me away from Lucas, prompting me to protest.
- "Please, let me stay!" I pleaded, attempting to turn around and catch a glimpse of how Lucas was approaching Alpha Alex.
- But Calix's firm grip refused to let me stay still.
- "We have to stop him! Let go, Calix! Lucas will be in trouble if he touches Alpha Alex!" I cautioned.
- "I don't think so, Miss," Calix countered. "If anyone is in danger, it's Alex."
- "What?" I exclaimed. "You don't understand. Alex is a powerful Alpha!"
- "Don't worry too much. My boss won't lose," Calix reassured me with a wink, as he led me away from the scene, and Lucas's figure disappeared from sight.
- That's impossible. How could Lucas possibly defeat an Alpha?
- My heart sank as we left Lucas behind.
