Chapter 74

  • ALEXIOS
  • Medics from the Nightshade finished strapping the last of their bloodied, defeated pack members onto stretchers. They were being taken to the pack's healer for treatment.
  • I stared at the bodies on the floor. My eyes lingered where my mom stood, an inch not too far away from where Fiona's body lay. The medics around walked towards her body. Some of them had been rounding the bodies. But when they got to Fiona. I notice the scowl and disdain they all had on their faces. They all ignored it. In their eyes, Fiona was Blossom trash and I was torn. I did pity Fiona. I couldn't hate her. No matter how rational I tried to think about it. Not even when she had summoned a ball of fire to kill me as I continued to protect Lydia . But Fiona had been a true Blossom at the last moments of her life. She has become the very thing she hated about her family and that was the legacy she had left for herself. I felt guilty for that. Because as much as I tried to water it down. It was still my fault. Like the prophecy had declared. I, Alexios Rose was the architect of her destruction. I turned to face Lydia. She was no longer behind me. She was far off, working hand in hand to help the Nightshade workers carry a body. She looked concerned and downright heartbroken. I could only deduce from her demeanor that the omega Elliot was dead. That sort of resolved an unanswered question. His death was probably what made Lydiasnap. Taking in a deep sigh, I walked over to Fiona's motionless body before dropping to my knees. I turned her over and gasped. She was beautiful. Her hair, midnight-black and it flowed over her shoulders. Her lips, saccharine pink were now white. Her eyes were open. You could see the fear in them. It was all she felt as life left her. Fear. Pungent apprehension.
