Chapter 6 Roses Are Red 6

• Asher shut his laptop and stretched out. He quickly checked the time to realize it was quite late. He packed up and hurried down to the lobby. His driver was waiting for him at the lobby. He handed over his bag to his driver and left for his car.
• While they drove, Asher ordered his driver to drive to Rose's house. Asher asked his driver to pack miles away from her apartment while he walks down and clear his head.
• Asher got out of his car and walked down to Rose's apartment, trying to make up an excuse for coming to her at such late hour. While he tried to make up a little lie, he heard a scream coming from close and it sounded like Rose's voice, calling out for help .
• Asher took to his heels and ran as fast as he legs could carry him. His instinct were right as he met Rose shaking. He touched her and she quickly let out a scream. On realizing who it was, she quickly hugged him, whimpering.
• Surprised Asher slowly placed his hands on her back and patted her gently. Calmed Rose broke off from him and wiped off her tears.
• Asher tried to find out what had happened.
• Rose took a deep breath and exhaled before starting off.
• "I...I..was coming back from a friend's place when I felt someone following me. It felt so creepy. However whenever I turn back, I wouldn't see anyone. I kept walking but I kept feeling someone was following. I paused and turned ..no one...but it became scarier cause when I continued walking, I noticed a tall Shadow following me and I could hear his footsteps and suddenly his breath was on my shoulder. I froze up immediately and couldn't move. I felt stuck to the ground and began to beg him to not hurt me and I started screaming for help. He drew closer and then I saw his hand coming to my face maybe to knock me off.... maybe he disappeared when he saw you"
• "It's okay. Don't be scared. I'm here with you. Nothing is going to happen to you. You know what? Don't move an inch and stay right here. I'll check around and see if someone is hiding around here"
• Rose quickly grasped his hand. "You're gonna leave me here? All alone? No, no, no Asher. I'm so fucking scared. I...I... don't want to be left alone "
• "I know but I'll be quick. I promise". Asher ran off while Rose stood still.
• Rose she waited for Asher, she felt a presence, someone staring at her.
• "Hello...is so...som.. someone behind me? Stop scaring me you...you son of a gun! Reveal your damn identity!
• Rose turned immediately and noticed a shadow walk by and screamed. Asher rushed back to her to see her pointing at a direction. Asher ran towards the direction, luckily caught up with the guy .
• Asher punched his face and his stomach, making him loose his balance and fell on the floor. Asher mounted on him and kept punching him, yelling "how dare you scare my Rose! How dare you lay your filthy eyes on my Rose! How dare you come close to my Rose! He punched him until he began to bleed. A security guard who saw them ran to them to stop Asher from beating the guy. Asher reported what the guy did and asked the security guard to take him away.
• Asher returned back to Rose who was squatting, scared. He squatted and touched her head, Rose slowly lifted her head and a smile hit her face when she saw him.
• Both stood on their feet.
• "You were gone for a long time. Mean!.
• "No I'm not mean Rose"
• "You're mean" Rose looked down and noticed blood on Asher's hand. "Blood! You're bleeding!
• "No. This is his blood "
• "His blood? You killed him?
• "No. I caught him and we got into a fight. I could only find his face and the punch I threw at him ended up giving him an injury and he began bleed. Got this blood stain from the second punch I had thrown at him"
• "Did he hit you?.
• "Huh?
• "Did you get punched too? Are you hurt? Rose asked touching his body.
• "Ro... Rose...to be touched in this manner.... isn't it... rather provocative?
• "Provocative? How?
• "Nothing. Do not worry about me. I'm okay. I'm glad you're safe. I need to go but then...do I walk you to your apartment?
• "Yes sure. I know you've caught the bastard but to keep you away from worry if I got to my apartment safely, walk me to my apartment please" she blinked her eyes cutely.
• "You're something else "
• "Something else like?
• "Cute" Asher blushed. "Let's go then"
• Asher and Rose walked and talked to her apartment. They got to their apartment and Asher bid her goodnight. Rose insisted Asher comes in. She dragged him along into her apartment and offered him a seat. She went into the kitchen and returned back with some water which she offered to him.
• Pearl on hearing some noises came out of her room, surprised to see Asher.
• "What is he doing here?
• "Well... girlfriend guess what?
• "What?
• "Asher just saved my life from some creepy crazy stalker who was following me from the estate gate to my apartment. I fretted and I could barely move. Thank goodness he was there there on time to save me. Thank you so much Asher. You're such a perfect gentleman "
• "It's nothing. I'm always here to help you. What are friends for? Ashe smiled "Sweet. Now back to my question. What brought you here at the first place? Obviously not to save her. I mean do you live close by or did you drop her off at the gate? Pearl asked inquisitively.
• "No."
• "Yeah Asher, what brought you here?
• "Well ..." He cleared his throat and continued. " I had closed up from work pretty late and was heading home but a part of me insisted on visiting you, that's why I'm here and thank goodness I listened to that part of me"
• "Right "
• "Well... I'm glad you're safe and ....one minute " Asher took out his phone from his pocket. "Hello, what now? I'm heading home, any problem? Mum called? Why? Sylvia rang up home. Oh! I'll call her up once I get home. Yes, yes. Hey stop teasing me about us. Okay bye " Asher hung up. "I'm sorry " he stood up"Thanks for the water. I need to go home, freshen up and make an important call"
• "Really? Sure. Safe drive home"
• "Sure"
• "I'll walk you to the door"
• "No please. Stay back here and be safe. Goodnight and to you Missy "
• "It's Pearl "
• "Right. Goodnight " Asher turned and left Rose's apartment.
• Asher hurried back to his car. He leaned back and shut his eyes. He quickly recalled Rose hugging him, holding his hands and both walking and talking to Rose's apartment, he blushed and smiled.
• "I like her" he exhaled Asher arrived at his home. Leo was at the living room, almost dozing off when Asher walked in. Asher kicked his leg, Leo sprang up from his seat.
• "You! Want to give me a heart attack!
• "Why are you here and not your room?
• "I was waiting for you to come home. I made dinner ".
• "Dinner? Asher glanced at his wrist watch. "11pm. Goodness... it's quite late to eat. Fine... I'll eat...I haven't had anything except the breakfast I had this morning. I'll go fresh up and come down for dinner"
• "Ain't you scared of ghosts "
• "Ghosts? Why? In my house?
• "Yes. Leaving your room down here by such odd hours of the night"
• "Crazy. You're definitely not a real man. Go to bed. You must be sleepy"
• "Well ..to save you the stress, I'll heat up the food and bring to you"
• "Really? Ain't you scared of ghosts? They could be in the kitchen "
• "Wh...what .. what nonsense are you spewing?
• "I mean ...they could be there. You going to the kitchen alone at such odd hour, mmmhhh... dinner for them" Asher laughed "You're evil "
• "You started it. I'll be in my room. Careful with the ghosts...I mean food" he laughed to his room.
• "No." Leo shrugged. "Ghosts don't exist. Do they? He's just trying to scare me. I just wanted to scare him and he ended up scaring me instead. Mean boy" Leo left immediately for the kitchen.
