Chapter 5 Roses Are Red 5

• "Uh! Asher groaned, stretching out. He has been busy attending to a lot of files on his table. He stood up and stretched out. His gaze fell on his clock, it was Lunchtime. Asher grabbed his phone and head out of his office. He thought of picking up Rose from her house for lunch.
• Asher joined his driver at the lobby and both left for his car. Minutes later, Asher was at Rose's apartment. He took a deep breath before ringing the doorbell. The door opened and some other girl stood before Asher.
• She flashed him a disdainful look, leaving Asher quite confused.
• "Hello. I'm Asher and I'm here to pick Rose up for lunch. Do let her know that I'm here"
• "What Rose? There's no Rose in this apartment. Check the nextdoor " the slammed the door at his face, startling Asher.
• Asher took a few steps back and tried to recall the night he had brought Rose home.
• He began to wonder if he had mixed up the apartment. He quickly rushed down and took a good look at the building.
• "That's Rose's apartment. What she fooling me that night? Damn it" Asher punched his palm the moment he realised he has been played by Rose. He took a deep breath and returned back to his car.
• Asher arrived at the restaurant and had his lunch.
• His long work hours ended and he returned home. He tossed his bag at his driver and went into his room.
• Asher fell face flat on his bed and groaned. He sat up immediately and stared into the air, with his mind blank.
• His driver walked in and placed his bag on the couch and left immediately. Asher fell back on his bed, still hurt with what Rose did to him.
• Few days later, Asher had finished up with a meeting with some investors at a restaurant and was about to leave when he bumped into Rose. His heart beat increased, and his face lit up with a smile. Asher explained the incident that took place at her apartment. Rose quickly apologized and promised to make it up to him. Asher insisted they have dinner together at the same restaurant. Rose gave in and promised to meet with him.
• Asher returned back to his office, happy. His mood changed and was pretty nice to the staff who came to him, unlike the past days, he has been gloomy.
• Asher returned home after a long day. He got into the shower cubicle and switched on the shower. He smiled as he began to imagine how perfect the dinner date with Rose would be.
• Asher got ready for the dinner date and left for Rose's house to pick her up.
• Rose was the one who answered the door. She welcomed him in and offered him a seat. Asher had his seat while Rose left to grab her bag.
• Rose returned back to Asher with Pearl, the lady from the other day. Pearl apologized to Asher for her behaviour and quickly left for her room. Rose apologized again for Pearl's behaviour. Asher quickly stood up and insisted they get going.
• Asher and Rose had a fun filled night at the restaurant. Asher dropped her off at her apartment before heading. Asher danced and whistled to his room, he was over the moon, to have had a dinner date with the lady he's crazy for.
• Asher and Rose met up a few times and hung out. Asher invited her to the clubhouse to play some golf and tennis.
• Rose turned down the offer but Asher was persistent, making Rose to give into his request.
• Rose arrived at the clubhouse with Pearl. Asher picked her up from the gate and both went in. All eyes were on them, little murmuring from here and there and whispering.
• Rose and Asher were a perfect pair.
• Asher handed Rose the outfit to change into. Rose fitted perfectly into the outfit. She looked dazzling in the tennis shorts and white crop top and cap. Rose joined Asher at the golf course. She cheered while he played. Asher won the golf game.
• Asher noticed Rose fondling with the golf stick. He excused himself from his colleagues and left to help Rose out.
• He came up to her from behind and placed his hands on hers, startling her. Asher smiled at her and asked her to follow his lead. He helped her bend to the required level and held her hand while she held the golf stick and off she hit her first ball into the hole.
• Rose quickly hugged him out of excitement. Asher's grew bigger and his jaw dropped, not ready to loose out on such opportunity quickly wrapped his hands around her body.
• Rose quickly broke off from him and apologized for inconveniencing him. Asher smiled warmly at her and both returned inside for a glass of juice.
• Pearl stood at a corner and watched Rose and Asher bond. Rose turned in search of Pearl only to see her busy with her phone at a corner. Rose broke away from Asher and his fellow to be with Pearl. Rose invited Pearl to join them which she quickly declined.
• Rose insisted and dragged her along to meet with the others. Rose introduced Pearl to everyone and insisted that Pearl hungout with them.
• The fun moment at the clubhouse ended and Asher dropped the two ladies off at their apartment before heading home.
• On his way home, his mum invited him over to spend the weekend with them. Asher quickly declined and hung up.
• Asher arrived at his home, and was presented with a lovely surprise.
• Asher quickly got out of his car and hugged him.
• Leo had visited Asher and he was staying over for the weekend. Asher was happy to have Leo over at his house. Both went in laughing.
• Asher offered him a seat and left to get a bottle of wine from the wine rack. Asher returned with a bottle of wine and two glasses for them to drink. Asher quickly opened the wine and poured into their glasses handing over a glass to Leo.
• Leo thanked him and leaned back. Leo slowly observed Asher's facial expressions and his body language. He discovered that Asher has quite changed.
• Leo placed his glass of wine on the table and leaned closer to Asher, sniffing while Asher leaned back, surprised.
• "What? Why are you sniffing my body like a dog?
• "Hmmm... something is definitely strange."
• "And what's that?
• "Asher... You look quite different"
• Asher stared at Leo confounded "You do. Cheers to that " Leo said picking his glass and raising it to Asher.
• "I'm lost"
• "I know you Asher. You are always look gloomy and dispirited "
• "That hurts you know "
• "So tell me, what's the secret behind it?
• "What secret?
• "Behind the new you. You look bright and happy. I like this new you. Keep it up with what you are doing "
• "Thank you, though I'm unable to digest the words that just preceded from your mouth "
• "What? Well... what's at home cause I'm starving "
• "Nothing. We'll go have dinner at some nice hotel "
• "At some what? He'll nah! We are making dinner. Don't you have a cook?
• "I do. It's Saturday and she takes her days off on Saturday, so she won't be coming in today"
• "What the f! Bro! Fire her. She's to be here 24/7"
• "Yeah as a log of wood she is, no, robot or maybe some newly built artificial intelligence " Asher grabbed the bottle of wine and left for the kitchen followed by Leo who was still complaining.
• Asher washed off the glasses and placed them back in the cabinet.
• Leo paused for a while, while his eyes scanned the kitchen.
• "Wow! Magnificent! You're super rich bro. May I marry you?
• "Get lost and never be found"
• Leo made a dramatic gasping for air with his hand on his chest.
• "Drama queen" he slightly shook his head.
• Leo quickly folded the sleeves of his shirt and bent down and began to open the cabinets. He took out some ingredients and pot which he placed on the platform and quickly washed his hands.
• Asher pulled a chair close and sat down, watching Leo do his thing. Asher did nothing but watch Leo cook.
• Leo in an hour made dinner for them, which they had in the kitchen.
• Leo thanked Asher for the food and quickly left the kitchen, leaving behind the plates and pot to be washed by Asher.
• Asher chuckled and placed the plates and pot in the sink and started off with them. In next few minutes, he was done washing them and set them up carefully in their racks.
• Asher joined Leo in the living room with with a glass of juice. Leo sat up immediately and stretched out his hand requesting for his. Asher pointed towards the kitchen. Leo, getting Asher's point, left to grab his glass of juice from the kitchen.
• Asher finished up with his juice and requested Leo to follow him. Asher showed Leo to one of the guest rooms Leo would be staying. Leo insisted on sharing Asher's room with Asher which Asher quickly declined and insisted that Leo stays in the guest room.
• Leo after a long argument, accepted to stay in one of the guest rooms but the one close to Asher's room.
• Asher rolled his eyes and walked away, followed by Leo dragging his suitcase along.
• Asher came to a halt and pointed at a door, where Leo would be staying. It was the only room close to his. Asher turned to leave for his room but paused midway and turned back to Leo.
• "Don't, I repeat, don't pester me" Asher continued back to his room while Leo mimicked him and went into the guest room.
