"Apologize, you brat! Didn't you hear what my mom said?" Selena's voice rang on the other end. Obviously, they were putting the phone call on speaker.
Ellen took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Then, she said calmly to the other end of the line, "I'll never apologize to you for this." With that, she hung up right away. Her heart was heavy, and it pained her a lot, but she knew that she didn't do anything wrong and thus didn't have to apologize to anyone.
Selena let out a snort in anger when the phone call ended. "Mom, she hung up on us."
