And with that, she fell asleep in Louie's arms without realizing it. Holding her in his arms, the latter leaned back against the sofa and acted as a body pillow for her until dawn.
When Eva opened her eyes in the early morning, she found herself sleeping on the sofa; the man she had slept on top of was closing his eyes in repose while propping his head on his elbow. She quietly crept out of his embrace, but the man nonetheless woke up. He opened his eyes and smiled, saying, "You're up?"
"Thank you," Eva said softly; she had slept well in his arms last night.
