Chapter 7 Red And Black Sabretooth

• After 30 minutes, were one of the first groups to be dropped off within the mountainous region of the forest reserves. As soon as Kalen landed, he surveyed the area to make sure there was no immediate danger.
• “This will work for us. We can see far and have more obstacles to take cover,” he told his friend, who also surveying the area.
• “Kalen, I want us to dominate this competition. Let’s find a place to set our camp and defensives before we scout the area.” Aledos said in a calm tone, as he turned to look at his friend.
• Kalen grunted in reply, as they quickly found a cliff that gave them plenty of cover from the exobeasts. The friends dropped their gear and went out to prepare their defenses.
• They decided that Kalen would wield the sniper, as he was a better marksman than his friend. They knew that Aledos can’t shoot to save his life. He has poor accuracy. They quickly set up their makeshift perimeter without any delays.
• They settled down, and Aledos decided to go into the forest to search for any exobeasts. They had no intention to be lazy and more proactive. Kalen told him not to leave the range of the sniper scope before he left.
• “It sucks that there are only two cartridges with limited shots. Got to make sure every shot counts and not wasted,” Kalen said as he finished putting the sniper into position, as his friend left his sight. These exobeasts are not like any of the normal beasts. It would take some time to find one, they had to be patience.
• Aledos searched the area for about an hour only to find an augmented python and tigon. He killed both easily and kept their meat. He put the meat in a spot where he knew Kalen could see it and get an easy shot with the sniper on their target. He would continue to search for the exobeasts before coming back for the meat. It was not long after he killed the tigon that he heard a loud thudding sound from behind him.
• He slowly moved away, remembering that exobeasts had a highly sensitive sense of smell. He was being cautious, as he didn’t know what creature was behind him. He knew it was a predator. He really hoped it was an exobeast.
• “There is a very high chance it’s an exobeast. It must be following the scent of blood from the tigon. Damn, there is no way I can take this exobeast on my alone. Need to lure it closer to Kalen, so he can get a sight on it,” Aledos thought to himself.
• Kalen got himself into a good position to snipe the exobeast. He saw the exobeast approaching Aledos position. Kalen looked through his sights and could not believe what he saw. Damn it, that is a ferocious red and black sabretooth. It was pure black with red designs all over his body and face. The sabretooth was quick as it reached his friend’s position. Luckily enough Aledos moved out of there. He might have bitten by the sabretooth. The sabretooth wolfed down the fresh meat.
• Kalen kept his sights on the sabretooth, making sure it didn’t attack his friend as he did a stealthily retreat. Once Aledos was safety behind the rocks, then he gave Kalen the signal to begin to attack.
• Boom!! Kalen initiated the first strike against the sabretooth. He fired off shot towards it. The shot was quick as it reached it target within a second. It was accurate as it destroyed the sabretooth’s right eye. The sabretooth roared in pain as it stared towards them with pure rage, as blood fell from its eye.
• Kalen released another shot towards the sabretooth. He aimed for its other eye, but he knew that it was not possible as the sabretooth reacted with great speed. It shifted its head to the left allowing the shot to scrap pass its head. The sabretooth roar even louder with rage as blood fell from the shallow wound. The sabretooth charged towards them baring its teeth.
• Kalen could not believe the speed of the sabretooth. It was beyond his expectations. He could not track the sabretooth within the rocky hills. When he did spot the sabretooth, he would fire two shots. One of the shots hit a rock, but the other hit the sabretooth in its back leg. The sabretooth staggered a bit due to the pain, but it still bolted after them.
• Kalen knew that the sniper will be useless within close range combat. He left the sniper behind and rushed towards Aledos position. Aledos was waiting for the sabretooth to get closer as he held the dual laser pistols in hand. Kalen pulled out his dual laser pistols as he ran towards Aledos.
• Kalen not expecting how fast the sabretooth was. It appeared in front of him growling in a rage. Kalen unleashed hell on the sabretooth, as he fired a spray of red laser fire on the sabretooth’s thick hide. The sabretooth moved its head to avoid any more damage, but the laser beams still hit its hardened back flesh, inflicting shallow injuries.
• The sabretooth dove towards Kalen, baring its fangs. Kalen predict that it would strike him, as he moved backwards still firing his pistols. The sabretooth tried to claw, but it realized that it could not reach him as Kalen moved away from him.
• The sabretooth did something unexpected. It lunged at Kalen clawing him. Kalen felt a sharp pain in his left hand. He saw the blood flowing from his hand, and he dropped the pistol that was in his left hand due to the pain. He held his mouth shout, trying not to scream out in pain. He quickly moved away from the sabretooth.
• Kalen was glad to have someone watching his back. He saw Aledos leaping on to the sabretooth’s back.
• Aledos had his sword and dagger in head as he leaped onto the sabretooth. He landed on its back and stabbed his sword into its body to stead himself. Then he used his dagger to repeatedly stab into its head.
• The sabretooth was far more resilient to damage than they thought and with its higher intelligence. The sabretooth buck and jumped around like it was bull and Aledos was the rider trying to throw him off.
• Aledos was trying his best to stay on the sabretooth didn’t notice it was near the rocks and he banged his head against the rocks. He fell off the sabretooth onto his back. Sabretooth moved away from Kalen and Aledos. The sabretooth finally saw how powerful these two men were and hesitated on if it should retreat to fight another day.
• Sabretooth lost it powerful intelligence to bloodthirsty rage as he had to kill them. It ignored the pain it was feeling and the blood flowing from its injuries. The sabretooth bared his powerful teeth, because he was not going to give up on this prey. They had cause it too many injuries. The sabretooth saw Aledos on the ground not moving. It decided to attack him.
• Kalen recovered to see the sabretooth attacking Aledos. He quickly unsheathed his sword and slashed towards the sabretooth stopping its attack. The sabretooth lunged to the side dodging the strike.
• The sabretooth immediately turned towards Kalen and gave him a massive roar, but it didn’t expect a dagger flying towards its other eye.
• It realizes how much danger it was in, but lucky enough its instinct kicked in as it reflexively clawed the dagger away. It changed the dagger trajectory causing it to slice into its face.
• Blood gushed out and it almost cover it whole head. The sabretooth realized that its life was in very much in danger if it stayed. With one more massive roar, it bolts away from Kalen and Aledos.
• Kalen felt relief and sadness when he saw the sabretooth running away. He realizes that his back was drenched in sweat, but sad because he want to kill it. He watched the sabretooth enter the forest then he remembered his friend and rushed over to check on him.
• Aledos was bleeding from his head, and Kalen helped him back to their tent.
• Once they got back into their tent, Kalen used his shirt to bandage the wound and told his friend to rest. Aledos relaxed his tense nerves and immediately fell asleep.
• “Man, that fight with the sabretooth was hard,” Kalen said to himself as he recalled the fight. “That was our first fight and we almost died,” he said with a little fear in his voice.
• Kalen silently encouraged himself as he lay down to rest. “You can do this, Kalen. You will remember these experiences and become stronger from them. One day I will look back at these memories and laugh.” It sounded weird, but he knew it was the right kind of motivation he needed, because soon he going to kill that red and black sabretooth.
