Chapter 100 Beta Couple's Fate

  • “Mason, leave me. If you leave now, at least our daughter has still one parent left. Losing me won’t hurt that much!” Lorraine sobbed. She hugged her mate’s left hand which was now wrapped with the only spare cloth between them—her handkerchief that she tied in her hair the day they were siege.
  • Mason flicked Lorraine’s forehead. With his right hand, he wiped her tears with his knuckles. “I just lose a finger, not my ability to protect. Even if it comes to choosing between us, I would rather let you leave here and tell our daughter what kind of hero her father is until his last moment.” Giving her a comforting smile, he tucked the disheveled hair of Lorraine behind her ears. He continued, “I want to be remembered by my mate as her hero and to be embedded in my daughter’s heart as her mother’s hero than flee without my last bit of pride. You can’t deprive me of that, Lorraine. Anyone can, but not you.”
  • Lorraine heard the heartache in Mason’s voice. Despite his unshaven face and grimy appearance, his scent never failed to calm her and her wolf. She knew how hard it was for Mason and his wolf to stay sane while being confined here. She could tell that her presence as his mate played a big role of it, but Anastasia’s insistent threats to Diana were pushing Mason’s wolf to the edge of insanity—his wolf wanted his pup within his sight.
