Chapter 6 The Startling Revelation Of The Ancient War God
- "Dr. Klein, you are too kind. You couldn't find the correct meridian point earlier because the patient's condition was special. In turn, it was difficult to determine the cause.
- "By the way, will you please prepare two doses of this prescription for me? My elders at home need it."
- After saying some pleasantries, Pierre passed the prescription to Felix. However, Felix refused to accept any payment from Pierre, who simply left in the end with the prescription.
- The elderly man came to Felix with the help of his granddaughter after Pierre was gone. "Dr. Klein, you live up to your name as a miracle doctor. If it wasn't for you today, I would have died!"
- With all sincerity, the elderly man bowed to Felix. Although his face was still a little pale, his voice sounded full of energy, a sign of his usual vigor.
- "Old Mr. Lawson, you are too kind. I wasn't the one who saved you from death. It was a young man who came for a prescription, and I saved you based on his pointers."
- As there were many witnesses, Felix didn't dare to claim the credit and told the elderly man exactly what happened.
- "Oh, really?" Surprised, the elderly man, Harold Lawson, turned to his granddaughter.
- Felix's reputation was renowned across the region. It was hard for Harold to believe that a young man could offer pointers to Felix.
- His granddaughter, Charmaine Lawson, nodded, confirming that Felix was telling the truth.
- "Talent emerges from every generation, and they will replace the older generation. If there's a chance, I would like to thank that young man," Harold said emotionally after receiving confirmation from his granddaughter.
- "Grandpa, although that guy saved you, he injured James with a single strike and pointed a weapon at my head. We are even, so we don't have to thank him," Charmaine said in disgruntlement.
- "What? Did that lad injure James with just one strike?" Harold exclaimed, looking at the injured James, whose arm hung limply.
- "Sir, I have failed to protect Miss Charmaine. We deserve to be punished." James and Eddie bowed their heads in shame before Harold.
- After checking James' hand, Harold exclaimed in shock, "Is it broken?"
- Even though James and Eddie were not the strongest fighters under his command, they were able to fend off a hundred enemies on the battlefield in their prime.
- Harold might have been the Narendelle War God, but even he couldn't break James' arm with just one move at his peak.
- "Dr. Klein, do you know where that young man is?" Harold hurriedly asked.
- "After he took the prescription, he simply left, Old Mr. Lawson," Felix answered politely.
- "Is he gone? Do you know where to find him?" Harold asked, grasping Felix's hand anxiously
- "Well… He did not leave any contact information, so it will be quite tough to find him." Felix appeared to be in a dilemma.
- Still, Harold refused to give up. "Do you remember his looks?"
- "Grandpa, we can check the surveillance cameras installed here. Then, we'll start a city-wide search for him," Charmaine suggested, assuming that her grandfather was mad about James' injury and wanted to get back at Pierre. So, she hurriedly jumped in to be his advisor.
- The injured James was close to tears, having the same thought in his mind.
- After Charmaine's reminder, Harold urged, "Yes, that's right! Dr. Klein, please check the footage."
- "Well… Okay, please wait."
- Just like Charmaine and James, Felix thought that Harold wanted to make things difficult for Pierre.
- Although he wanted to help out Pierre, who had given him a hand, Felix had to obey Harold's orders because Harold had a powerful and regal background.
- Soon, Harold saw Pierre in the surveillance footage, and when he saw the Dragon Burial Ring on Pierre's finger, he trembled in excitement.
- In order to check the Dragon Burial Ring on Pierre, James instructed the person playing the surveillance footage, "Stop, and rewind to the part where his palm met James. Then, zoom in!"
- After zooming in on the scene when Pierre's and James' hand made contact, Harold confirmed that the ring on Pierre's finger was indeed the Dragon Burial Ring he had the honor to see once when he was young.
- "He's really the heir of the Dragon Burial Ring. It makes sense now why he is so strong. Not only is he able to advise Dr. Klein, but he also injured James with a simple, single strike!
- "Looks like he just wanted to teach James a lesson and not really mad. Otherwise, James would have died from that hit!" Harold couldn't help but mutter to himself after confirming that Pierre was the heir of the Dragon Burial Ring.
- The reason Harold could achieve such great success in life was because he received advice from the eighth successor of the Dragon Burial Ring when he was young. That was how he dominated the battlefield, establishing his reputation as the Narendelle War God.
- "Pass my order. Within ten minutes, I want all the information about this man!" Harold commanded Eddie, who was uninjured.
- "Yes, Sir!" After receiving the order, Eddie promptly took out a laptop from the car and started investigating Pierre's background.
- Standing in a corner, Felix felt guilty and was uneasy because he had implicated Pierre.
- "Old Mr. Lawson, that young man may have injured your man, but he also saved your life. Perhaps you can forgive him because he had no clue about your identity when he attacked your man. Ignorance is not a crime. What do you think?"
- Despite risking offending Harold and his men, Felix plucked up his courage and defended Pierre.
- His words stunned Harold. "I'm looking for this young man because I would like to thank him personally. What are you thinking about?" he explained with a hint of annoyance.
- Upon hearing this, Charmaine and the others exchanged glances.
- "I misunderstood you, Old Mr. Lawson!" Felix exclaimed and chuckled in embarrassment.
- Surely, a person of Felix's integrity would be thanking Pierre if he said that was what he would do and not anything else.
- In the meantime, Eddie utilized the god of war's wide intelligence network to gather information on Pierre.
- "Sir, I've found all the relevant information about this man. He was originally a chief at Rockville General Hospital, renowned for his medical skills and reputation.
- "Eight years ago, he sponsored seven female college students for three years. Later, they falsely accused him of sexual abuse, which resulted in ten years of prison for him. However, he was released before he finished serving his sentence because of good conduct.
- "According to the records from the City Hall, Pierre Cook just registered for marriage today with Miss Wendy of the Mills Family in Riverdon," Eddie summarized to Harold.
