Chapter 1 Released From Prison
- "Pierre Cook, you earned the trust of female college students by pretending to help students from low-income families. Then, you had assaulted seven of those whom you had helped. The forensic doctor found evidence in their bodies pointing toward you. Thus, I will now sentence you to ten years in prison, effective today!"
- Carrying a canvas bag, Pierre stood in front of Riverdon Railway Station. Hatred filled his eyes as he recalled those injustices memories from five years ago.
- Eight years ago, he had helped seven impoverished female college students who lived in his hometown, Rockville. After supporting them for three years, they invited him for dinner, saying that it was to thank him for helping them. However, they deliberately got him drunk and took him to a hotel. The next day, those students accused him of sexual assault. Faced with solid evidence, he was ultimately sentenced to ten years in prison.
- Fortunately, he had encountered a blessing in disguise. During his time in prison, he met a master, who was dying due to his loss of control when practicing martial arts. With the master’s help, he learned a legendary medical skill called the Nine Dragons Medical Scripture. It was said that this medical skill could even bring a person back to life.
- Yesterday, he was released from prison early due to good behavior.
- Initially, he thought he could reunite with his family after his release from prison. However, when he returned to his house, he realized no one was home. After asking his neighbors, he learned that his mother and sister had been taken away by a group of strangers two years ago. No one knew where they went.
- In order to find his family, Pierre recalled the ancient Dragon Burial Ring that his master had given him.
- Before his master passed away, he told Pierre that the Dragon Burial Ring had nine gold needles.
- By collecting the first gold needle, he could learn the unique medical skills of the Dragon Burial Palace, which was the Nine Dragons Medical Scripture. He had the first gold needle and had already mastered the Nine Dragons Medical Scripture.
- With the second gold needle, he could learn the ultimate skill of the Dragon Burial Hall, which was the Phoenix Dominion Art. Once he had mastered this skill, he would become unbeatable.
- The third gold needle would give him unlimited wealth of the Dragon Burial Palace.
- The fourth gold needle would provide him access to the Book of Myriad Wonders.
- The fifth golden needle would give him the right to command the five formidable kings under the Dragon Burial Palace.
- The sixth gold needle would grant him access to the Dragon Burial Palace's intel network.
- The seventh gold needle could help him locate the Dragon Burial Palace's headquarters.
- The eighth gold needle would help him unlock the door to the Dragon Burial Palace.
- Lastly, the ninth gold needle would wake the Great Ninth Dragon, who was buried in the Dragon Burial Palace, and fulfill his wishes!
- Pierre had to get more than six gold needles for the sake of using the Dragon Burial Palace's intel network to find his mother and sister. Therefore, he arrived at Riverdon since the second and third gold needles were in the possession of Donald Mills, who came from a rising prominent family in Riverdon.
- With this in mind, Pierre exited the train station and hailed a cab.
- "Where are you going, young man?" the driver asked enthusiastically.
- "To the Mills Family estate."
- Hearing Pierre's words, the driver was momentarily stunned. Then, he asked, "Are you offering your condolences to Donald Mills, the Old Mr. Mills?"
- Hearing his words, Pierre was shocked. "My condolences? Did he pass away?" he asked with a grim expression.
- The second and third gold needles are in his hands. If he were to pass away, where can I find the gold needles?
- "That's right. It was just announced on the radio that Old Mr. Mills, the founder of the Mills Group, had passed away two days ago. His funeral is being held at 2 p.m. this afternoon. Rumors said that he was poisoned because the Mills Group was competing with an established wealthy family about a huge project. Even the renowned Saint Healer, Dr. Klein, couldn't save him! Furthermore, the Mills Family had prepared a refrigerated coffin for him to preserve his dead body." The driver told Pierre everything he had heard about Donald.
- "Drive now. The money is yours if you arrive at the Mills Family estate before 2 p.m.!" As Pierre spoke, he handed the driver a stack of money.
- He earned a few thousand dollars when he treated the prison guards during his time in prison.
- "Don't worry, mate. Trust me, I will reach the Mills Family before 2 p.m. so you can see Old Mr. Mills for the last time!"
- The driver glanced at the stack of money and immediately became respectful to Pierre. Then, he stepped on the gas pedal, and the cab went as fast as lightning. At 1:59 p.m., it stopped in front of the estate gate.
- The plaque on the gate read 'Mills Family' in bold characters. White silk was hanging on the door lintel, and sounds of mournful music and crying could be heard from inside.
- Then, Pierre walked in. He saw several family members dressed in mourning clothes and knelt before the memorial hall. Meanwhile, a few servants were about to seal the coffin and carry it for burial.
- "You can't seal the coffin!" exclaimed Pierre. Although his voice wasn't loud, it reached everyone's ears clearly.
- Instantly, all eyes were on Pierre. The Mills family members, who had been mourning, stopped and looked at Pierre.
- Pierre had short hair and carried a worn canvas bag on his back. Although his clothes were clean, it was washed out, indicating that it had been worn for years.
- Jerry Mills, Donald's eldest son, stepped forward and shouted, "Who are you? The time to offer condolences is over. Please step aside and don't delay the time of my father's burial!"
- "I'm not here for that. I'm here because Donald still owes me something. He can't die until he returns what I want!" As soon as Pierre said this, everyone was stunned.
- After all, the Mills Group was worth tens of billions, and Donald was its founder. Thus, how could he owe something to a young man?
- At that moment, everyone felt that Pierre was here to make a stir!
- In that split second, the family members all showed their anger towards Pierre.
- "Listen here, brat. My father owes you nothing. How dare you cause trouble at his funeral? Do you think our family is easy to mess with? Guards! Teach this b*stard a lesson!"
- With Jerry's command, some of the servants immediately rushed toward Pierre with an angry look on their faces.
- Donald had treated them well when he was alive. Thus, they would be betraying Donald if they didn't teach Pierre a lesson for his recklessness.
- However, Pierre stood there fearlessly. Before those people could reach him, he flicked a few silver needles toward them. In that split second, the servants felt their knees weakened, and they all fell to the ground.
- Everyone was stunned by the scene before them.
- Before anyone could react, Pierre had already arrived before Donald's coffin.
- "Do you think you can die without giving me what I want? Not so easy!" Pierre murmured as he looked at Donald, who was lying in the coffin.
- Then, he took out the only gold needle he had from the Dragon Burial Ring and inserted it without hesitation into Donald's forehead. In the meantime, his other hand was rhythmically thumping on Donald's chest.
- "How dare you touch my father's body? You scoundrel! I will kill you!"
- ...
- Pierre's actions infuriated The Mills family members, and they wanted to tear him apart.
- "Cough! Cough!"
- However, before they could do anything, they heard coughing from inside the coffin.
