Chapter 4 Arranged Marriage

  • In order to prevent Wendy and Pierre from playing tricks and bringing a fake marriage certificate to deceive him, Donald instructed Jerry and Jonathan to tidy up the house before personally taking them to the City Hall.
  • Donald's actions had thwarted Wendy's plan to get a fake marriage certificate. In that split second, she wore a grim expression as she walked unwillingly toward the City Hall. Even if she was in a bad mood, she still looked as beautiful as ever.
  • Looking at her, Pierre couldn't understand why Donald was forcing him to marry Wendy when she was so beautiful and could easily find someone else.
  • Soon, they arrived at the City Hall. While taking the wedding photo shoot, they both had cold expressions and stood far apart.
  • "No. That's not it. You guys don't look like you are getting married at all. You guys look like enemies! Let's start over. Smile like you guys are truly happy! Getting married is a happy thing. Why don't you guys practice your smile by looking at each other?" Donald energetically directed the two at the photo shoot. He didn't look like a person who had just been revived from death.
  • Wendy and Pierre had no choice but to awkwardly smile at each other.
  • At that moment, Donald accidentally bumped into Wendy, causing the latter to fall onto Pierre without warning. In that split second, the duo's lips touched.
  • As soon as that happened, they stared at each other in disbelief, forgetting to separate.
  • "Wendy, would you believe me if I said it was an accident?" Donald's voice snapped them out of their trance.
  • Then, they quickly separated from each other.
  • "Do you think I will believe you, Grandpa?" Wendy glared at Donald furiously and stomped her foot. She was on the verge of crying.
  • Ever since Donald woke up, Wendy felt that he had been acting strangely. After all, not only did he force her to marry a stranger, but he even deliberately planned this act, which caused her to lose her first kiss!
  • Wendy felt like she was losing her mind as she faced Donald, who was being unreasonable.
  • "What's the big deal? You guys are going to be husband and wife soon. There's nothing to be embarrassed of." Donald laughed when he saw Wendy stomping her foot.
  • "You have crossed the line, Old Mr. Mills. We still haven't received our marriage certificate. If you keep this up, we won't be doing this anymore!" Pierre said sternly when he saw how furious Wendy was.
  • Donald is quite nice. Although he was old, he had the heart of a child.
  • It was apparent that Pierre had also misunderstood Donald.
  • If Wendy were normal, he would take her as his wife since she was beautiful. However, he felt that something must be going on with Wendy since Donald was trying to let her marry him as quickly as possible, even to the point where he wanted them to have intimate connections. He felt that the problem was mainly because Wendy couldn't get a husband.
  • "That's right, Grandpa. If you continue to cause trouble, we will leave now!"
  • This time, Wendy and Pierre stood united against Donald.
  • "Okay. I'll stop it now. Hurry up and get it on with the photo shoot." Donald grumbled and decided not to explain his actions since he knew they wouldn't believe his words.
  • Afraid that Donald might have something else waiting for them, the duo cooperated quickly and tried to smile as happily as possible when they took the picture.
  • Soon, they got their marriage certificate and left the City Hall.
  • As Wendy gazed at the marriage certificate in her hand, she felt somewhat bewildered. Never in her life had she expected to get married like this.
  • "Old Mr. Mills, now that we have the marriage certificate, can you give me what I want?" As soon as they exited the City Hall, Pierre eagerly asked Donald for the golden needle.
  • "Why are you still calling me Old Mr. Mills?" Donald said unhappily. "If you address me as Grandpa, I'll hand over the items!"
  • "Grandpa!" Pierre said stiffly.
  • "That's better!" Donald replied cheerfully. Then, he turned to Wendy and said, "You can head back first, Wendy. I have something to say to my son-in-law!"
  • "Hmph! I'm not interested in your secrets! I'm leaving!" Wendy said before walking away.
  • "Have you noticed the pair of golden earrings on her ears? That's what you're searching for. They were crafted into earrings by her grandmother. She treasures these earrings as a memento and doesn't allow anyone to touch them. I advise you to be more assertive when you guys have sex tonight. Wait until she falls asleep before taking the earrings!" Donald pointed at Wendy and smiled mischievously.
  • Only then did Pierre realize that the color of the round earrings on Wendy's ears resembled the golden needle in his hand after hearing Donald's words.
  • In that instant, he felt deceived by Donald.
  • "If I had known the golden needle was on her ears, I wouldn't have saved you!" Pierre gritted his teeth.
  • "A missed opportunity is hard to regain. This just proves that you two are meant for each other!" Donald teased Pierre.
  • When they returned to the Mills Family estate, the house had already undergone a dramatic transformation. The somber white drapes had been replaced with vibrant decorations, creating a festive ambiance.
  • "I'll let someone select a favorable day and reserve a hotel for your wedding!" Looking at the joyful scene, Donald waved his hand and said excitedly.
  • "Let's not rush into this. We can do it after three months if we're still not divorced!" Pierre quickly intervened.
  • "Alright, we'll have the wedding in three months then! However, that doesn't mean you can't have sex tonight. If you're concerned about Wendy getting pregnant and its impact on the divorce three months later, you can always take precautions!" Donald advised Pierre.
  • Hearing his words, Pierre felt embarrassed.
  • Nevertheless, since they were instructed to do so, he decided not to hold back himself. After all, they were already legally married. Thus, as long as they took precautions, he was sure that everything would be fine.
  • "I'm going out to buy some things!" said Pierre as he headed towards the exit, afraid that Donald might say something inappropriate again.
  • "It's almost dinner time. Be sure to return before dinner." Donald called out from behind.
  • Pierre didn't even turn around and simply raised his hand in an OK gesture.
