Chapter 2 Is Your Granddaughter Ugly?
- "Who was coughing just now?" Jerry asked with a stern expression.
- Everyone shook their heads in response.
- "If it was none of you guys, who was it?"
- At that moment, everyone turned to look at Donald, who was lying in the coffin. At that moment, they gasped when they noticed that Donald's complexion wasn’t as pale as before.
- "What... What have you done to my father?" Jonathan, who was Donald’s second son, stammered.
- "I had already told you. Donald still owes me something, so he doesn’t have the right to die just yet!"
- Hearing Pierre's words, they knew he was trying to save Donald.
- "Jerry, why don’t we give it a shot? If he can't save Dad, we can always take action!" Jonathan felt a slight hope when he heard the coughing sound from the coffin. He was willing to take the risk and let Pierre try, so he began to advise Jerry.
- The rest of the family members had the same idea, too.
- On the other hand, Pierre ignored the others and continued to spin the golden needle in Donald’s forehead with one of his hands while thumping his heart with the other.
- Gradually, a faint black gas started to emerge from Donald's body.
- Pierre removed the toxic energy using the golden needle. After that, Donald’s heart began beating again, and his pale face regained color. Shortly after, he coughed up a huge amount of black blood and slowly opened his eyes.
- "Is Dad alive?"
- "Old Mr. Mills is truly back to life!"
- "This is..."
- Everyone was stunned by this miracle.
- The servants of the Mills Family thought Donald was feigning death and took a few steps back in fear.
- On the other hand, Donald looked bewildered when he found himself in a coffin surrounded by his mourning children.
- "What happened?" he asked in confusion.
- "You were dead, but I brought you back to life!" Pierre explained since everyone was still processing the situation.
- "I remember now. After Dr. Klein announced that I was dead, I lost consciousness. It seems like you are the one who brought me back to life. Please accept my gratitude!"
- Hearing Pierre's words, Donald recalled what had happened and tried to get out of the coffin to thank him.
- Only then did the others snap out of their trance and quickly help Donald out of the coffin.
- "Don't thank me. I’m here to settle a debt. You can’t die unless you return your debt!" said Pierre as he stopped Donald from thanking him.
- In fact, the reason for Donald's revival was all thanks to the specialized coffin he was placed in. After all, the low temperature had effectively preserved his body and prevented his cells from dying. This was similar to modern medical practices, where individuals who were dying would be frozen for future revival until medical technology was advanced.
- Only then was Pierre's Nine Dragons Medical Scripture and golden needles able to save Donald from death. The golden needle forced out the toxic energy from Donald's body.
- "Debt?"
- Everyone looked at Donald curiously but noticed the latter was as puzzled as they were.
- When Donald first started his business, he had indeed borrowed money from others. However, he recalled that he returned all the money after his success. Those who had lent him money were generously rewarded and became shareholders in his company.
- "Do you remember this ring, Old Mr. Mills?" Pierre didn't beat around the bush and directly showed the Dragon Burial Ring on his left index finger.
- "The Dragon Burial Ring! I see… You are the heir of the Dragon Burial Ring. No wonder you can bring me back to life!" Donald appeared thrilled when he saw the ring on Pierre's hand.
- "Since you know this ring, I’m sure you know why I’m here, right?" Pierre asked calmly when he saw that Donald recognized the ring.
- "Of course I do. However, if you want those two items back, you must agree to one condition!" Donald said mysteriously.
- Hearing his words, Pierre frowned deeply. However, considering his family’s whereabouts were still unknown, he was determined to retrieve the lost golden needles by any means. Thus, he could only suppress his displeasure and said, "As long as it is within ethical boundaries and does not violate any laws or regulations. Tell me, what do you want me?"
- "It’s very simple. It is within ethical boundaries and does not violate any laws. As long as you marry my granddaughter, I will return those items to you!"
- Just when Pierre thought Donald would propose some difficult conditions, the latter said something that shocked everyone.
- No one dared to believe that Donald had requested Pierre marry his granddaughter. At that moment, they wondered if Donald had lost his mind. Otherwise, why would he allow his most outstanding granddaughter, Wendy Mills, to marry a stranger?
- Wendy was known as one of Riverdon's Top Four Beauty. Moreover, she was also the president of the Mills Group. In fact, she was the definition of an ideal successful woman.
- In Riverdon, there were countless outstanding young men courting Wendy, so she didn’t have to worry about finding a husband.
- "How does that sound? My condition is simple enough, right? As long as you and her get married today, I will give you what you want." Donald smiled at Pierre, happy to see Pierre’s incredulous face.
- "I have a question. Is your granddaughter a hideous woman? Is she short, fat, and ugly?" Pierre asked with a strange expression.
- As soon as he said this, Donald and the other Mills members were stunned. Only Wendy, who was standing behind everyone, had a grim expression. Her eyes were filled with hatred as she looked at Pierre.
- I am beautiful, graceful, knowledgeable, and talented. I am the dream lover of all men in Riverdon. How dare he say that I’m a hideous woman who is short, fat, and ugly? If he hadn’t saved Grandpa, I would definitely beat the sh*t outta him!
