Chapter 13 Unexpected Marriage

• "If you can't do it, then don't pretend that you're so high and mighty," Pierre responded strongly before he walked out of the study. He paid no attention to his temporary father-in-law's continued ranting.
• Everyone from the Mills Family gathered around the table for lunch, except the enraged father-in-law, who remained in the study.
• "Pierre, come sit beside your wife. I asked for a pot of soup to be prepared for you both. It was boiling all morning for great nourishment and vitality!" Old Mr. Mills seated Pierre next to Wendy when he saw Pierre.
• As they assumed that the couple had consummated their marriage the previous night after he heard his granddaughter's cries of pain, Old. Mr Mills had the special soup made for them.
• Pierre quickly drank the entire bowl of soup and he appreciated this gesture that he had never experienced in prison.
• Wendy was not able to explain the events of last night in front of everyone, so she blushed as she drank her soup slowly.
• After she finished her bowl, Wendy felt almost overwhelmed by the effects of the soup.
• "Not bad. Would you like another bowl, my dear?" Old Mr. Mills offered.
• Wendy declined politely as she was already afraid of getting a nosebleed from the first bowl of soup.
• "No, thank you, Grandpa. I'm full. If you'll excuse me, I have some issues to manage at the company," Wendy quickly excused herself.
• "Stop there. Your father can manage the company issue. Just accompany Pierre for the next few days and bring him around, bond with him, and help him familiarize with Riverdon," Old Mr. Mills commanded as he stopped Wendy when he saw her attempting to leave.
• "Grandpa, I…"
• As she was about to protest, she was stopped by her mother who shook her head.
• Wendy's mother was mindful of Old Mr. Mills' health and they did not dare to trigger him.
• "Fine, I'll drive him out around then. Is that good enough?" Wendy stomped her feet before she left the dining room.
• "Sally, Grandpa forced me to bring that troublemaker around. Help me get out of it!" Wendy asked her best friend for advice over the phone after she left the dining room.
• "My dear friend, that's easy. How about we use Thomas, the provincial free combat champion, who has been pursuing you, to teach Pierre a lesson and expose his relationship with our bank's general manager?" Sally suggested and this excited Wendy.
• "Amazing idea! Let's schedule a meeting with Thomas at the boxing club and tell him someone wants to challenge him!" Wendy requested eagerly with a mischievous grin.
• I'm finally getting my revenge for the way you bullied me last night!
• Wendy drove her Lamborghini out of the garage as she was determined to take revenge on Pierre with a plan in her mind.
• Old Mr. Mills' gazed at them approvingly as Wendy drove away from the family estate
• Half an hour later, they arrived at a boxing club.
• Pierre was confused and he asked, "Why are we here?"
• "I'm introducing you to some friends who are meeting here. Wait here while I go fetch my best friend," Wendy replied.
• "Sure."
• Pierre didn't argue as he let Wendy make the arrangements.
• She drove off after Pierre had gotten out of the car.
• Pierre noticed a jewelry store near the boxing club and took the opportunity as he decided to replicate a pair of earrings for Wendy.
• Half an hour later, he came out of the jewelry store.
• The goldsmith's craftsmanship at this jewelry store was amazing. The pair of earrings he had replicated were so well-made that even he could barely differentiate between the original and the fake, so Wendy would definitely not be able to differentiate them.
• Suddenly, a BMW 3 Series stopped in front of the jewelry store.
• A tall girl in a dress and a middle-aged woman came out from the car.
• Pierre was surprised when he saw the girl. He had never expected to run into his ex-girlfriend, Stella and her mother there.
• During college, Stella had pursued him for a year before they began dating. However, after he was wrongly accused and sentenced, Stella instantly ended their relationship. She turned her back on him so quickly.
• Stella also spotted Pierre and she was astonished at first, then a look of distaste crossed her face.
• "Pierre, Stella has already ended things with you. Why are you still looking for her here?"
• "Just so you know, Stella has a new boyfriend who is the general manager of the Laurel Hotel. Harold, the Narendelle War God, will be celebrating his birthday in two days at the Laurel Hotel, and Stella's new boyfriend will manage the banquet. He will have the chance to talk to Harold. You should think about the consequences if you continue to disturb Stella!" Stella's mother confronted Pierre with disgust.
• Stella and her mother assumed that Pierre had found out that they were in Riverdon, so he purposely came to reconcile with her after he was released from prison.
• Pierre frowned but he couldn't be bothered to explain. He simply raised the pair of gold earrings in his hand and said, "Actually, I am already married. I came here to buy gold earrings for my wife today!"

• "If I'm not mistaken, you just came out from prison. Who would be frantic enough to marry a criminal like you?"
• "Did you marry a fellow inmate in prison?"
• Stella burst into laughter and sarcastically asked after she heard what Pierre said.
• This ex-convict had just been released from prison and came to buy the gold earrings I liked. She refused to believe that he wasn't there to reconcile with her.
• "Mom, let's go inside and choose jewelry to wear to Harold's banquet tomorrow. My fiancé is managing the banquet, so I can't embarrass him!"
• Stella looked at Pierre with distaste and she did not give him a chance to explain.
• At that instance, a Lamborghini and a Ferrari pulled up beside them, which immediately caught the attention of Stella and her mother.
• Wendy and her best friend, Sally, came out from the Lamborghini.
• "Look, mom. Isn't that Wendy and Sally, two of Riverdon's Top Four Beauty?"
• "I can't believe we met these two beautiful ladies here!"
• When she saw Wendy and her friend Sally getting out of the car, Stella shrieked in surprise.
• What surprised them even more was that after Wendy got out of the car, she walked straight to them, then she took Pierre's hand and led him toward the Ferrari.
• "Mr. Harleyson, let me introduce you. This is my newlywed husband, Pierre. He wants to challenge you!"
• Wendy saw Thomas getting out of the Ferrari and she smiled sweetly as she introduced Pierre to him.
• She planned to display public affection with Pierre in front of Thomas, the provincial free combat champion who had a crush on her, and intended to provoke him to teach Pierre a lesson in anger.
• Anyway, neither of them were good people, so it would be exciting to allow them to fight with each other.
• When she said that, Pierre was dumbfounded.
• When did I ever say I wanted to challenge this man?
• The ones who were the most shocked were Stella and her mother, who stood beside them.
