Chapter 3 Having an Abortion
- Angela's nerves suddenly tightened. Is this a robbery? How blind can they be?
- She was dressed in cheap clothes, and each piece cost no more than eight. How could she possibly look like a rich person?
- "Sir, I'm poor. I don't have a single penny in my bank account, and I have a 300 debt. Please, have mercy on me."
- "Quit the nonsense."
- The bald man had a fierce and menacing look on his face as he forced her to move forward where a black Honda was parked not far away.
- Just as he opened the car door and was about to push her inside, a sharp knife was held against his throat.
- "Do you want to try who dies first?"
- The bald man shivered, and before he could react, someone grabbed his hand, which was holding the knife.
- The person exerted force and caused him to scream in pain like a pig being slaughtered.
- Angela was too scared to move as she stood there like a piece of merchandise. She was handed over to the man in black and then sent into a silver Rolls-Royce.
- A man was sitting in the car.
- He had a slender and tall figure as well as a handsome face—it was none other than Conrad Heathcliff.
- "M-Mr. Heathcliff!"
- Her nerves tightened even more.
- Conrad was hardly any safer than the robber and his expression was currently as cold as ice.
- Just then, his gaze coldly swept over her still-flat abdomen.
- "I heard you're pregnant with my child?"
- He got straight to the point and caught Angela off guard.
- "It… It was a medical accident. I'm also a victim."
- She curled up in the corner and lowered her gaze since she was afraid to meet his eyes. His gaze was too intimidating as if he could shatter her.
- Conrad looked at her timid appearance with a hint of mockery. Where did her audacity to 'seduce' him in the elevator go?
- "I've already made an appointment with a doctor to perform an abortion for you tomorrow."
- What? Angela trembled fiercely. Does he want to abort the baby? Isn't his future wife planning to have me bring it to term? Haven't they reached an agreement?
- "Since the child is yours, I will follow your arrangements."
- Angela didn't say much. Since Conrad had already made a decision, there was no need for her to struggle anymore. It was actually for the best.
- At that, the man squinted his eyes slightly, and a hint of deep thought flashed in his gaze.
- "Do you have any requests?"
- He had sent someone to inquire at the MG Group design department and learned that this woman was greedy for money, and money meant everything to her. Now was a perfect opportunity for her to make outrageous demands, and he believed she wouldn't miss it.
- Angela pursed her lips.
- How could she dare to make demands of Conrad?
- Besides, he was also a victim. Even if she wanted compensation, she should go to the hospital.
- "You won't fire me because of this, right?"
- Conrad was taken aback for a moment. "I've always been scrupulous in separating public from private interests."
- "That's good, then. As long as I can keep my job, I have no other requests." Angela stuck out her tongue.
- She had gone through numerous trials and obstacles before finally entering the MG Group. This job was as important as her life.
- He was somewhat surprised. It was completely different from what he had imagined. Can it be that she has turned over a new leaf or that she's trying to bait me with a long-term plan?
- After thinking about how she intentionally or unintentionally seduced him in the elevator, he felt that the latter possibility was more likely.
- It seemed she was a scheming person.
- The car drove into a villa in the suburbs.
- "You'll stay here tonight. I'll take you to the hospital tomorrow morning."
- "Oh." Angela obediently followed the servant upstairs.
- She guessed that Conrad was worried she might run away, so he 'detained' her here. Does he think I'm that foolish?
- Conrad sat down on the cab and took a sip of coffee.
- Just then, Kevin Daseth, Conrad's subordinate, walked in. "Mr. Heathcliff, the person who abducted Miss Banner has confessed. He was acting under Miss Prescott's instructions. I've brought Miss Prescott here."
- Conrad had already expected this.
- As soon as Wilhelmina entered, she burst into tears while showcasing her acting skills worthy of an Oscar-winning actress.
- Originally, she wanted to take the initiative and get rid of Angela before Conrad discovered the truth. However, Angela had unexpectedly beaten her to it.
- "Conrad, I didn't intentionally deceive you. I was afraid that woman would use the child to blackmail you, so I wanted to control her first and then tell you the truth."
- He stirred his coffee while enunciating slowly, "You don't need to worry. I will take her to have an abortion tomorrow."
- Wilhelmina trembled fiercely. "You want to abort the child?"
- "Why not?" He raised an eyebrow, and his expression was cold.
- She couldn't believe it. She was afraid that he was deceiving her.
- "That may be your only healthy child."
- Conrad's gaze turned sharp as he exuded a chilling aura. "I'd rather have nothing than settle for something subpar. Not every woman is qualified to bear my child."
- He raised his eyes slightly, and a cold gleam flashed across his face. It was as sharp as a blade.
- Wilhelmina shivered upon seeing that. "That's fine, then. It's better to prevent that woman from entangling you using the child."
- For her, this situation was naturally favorable. Otherwise, she would have to find a way to eliminate that woman.
- While they were talking, Angela was eavesdropping from the stairwell.
- In the eyes of Conrad, a low-level employee like her didn't even count as a speck of dust. How could he allow her to bear his child?
- She knew her place. Since it was a mistake, it should be corrected.
- Early the next morning, she was taken to the hospital in a car.
- Angela had been calm originally, but when she arrived at the operating chair and saw the sharp surgical knife beside her, she started to feel nervous.
- The doctor picked up the surgical knife. "Are you ready?"
- Her heart suddenly skipped a beat.
