Chapter 3 A Guest House
- Gabriella's POV
- I grabbed the blanket to cover his face and hit him hard before running away from his room with my heels in my hands. I still can’t believe I am running barefoot.
- I brought out my phone to call Jane, “Jane, where are you?”
- “I should be asking you; you just disappeared from the party.”
- “I don't know where I am.” I saw the name of the place I’m at: a guest house. Hell no, this is so embarrassing, but I need to tell her.
- “I am at the guest house close to the very club.”
- “A guest house? Wow, don’t tell me..”
- “Jane, please not now. Where are you? I need to leave here now. I can’t let anyone see my face and recognize me as the Alpha's worthless daughter.”
- “Calm down, I will come and get you now.” She said, ending the call.
- Before the young man catches me, I think I need to find a good place to hide to avoid getting discovered by him.
- This was really a bad idea from the beginning. If I can get out of here without being noticed, I promise, no more parties. I am done for good.
- I saw Steve's car in the distance, and I rushed to meet them as soon as he parked the car.
- I entered the back seat, breathing heavily, “Take me home, please.” I said to Steve, and he nodded.
- While driving, Jane became so inquisitive, asking so many questions about what happened.
- I can't tell her I slept with someone I don't know. This is so embarrassing, I must say.
- “I don’t remember, Jane. I got intoxicated, you know, and ended up in a strange room.” I tried to lie, but I suck at it. Jane will never fall for it.
- Steve stopped the moving car suddenly, “Steve, what has gotten into you? Why did you stop the car like that?” Jane yelled at him.
- “We have a problem, Jane.”
- “What problem?”
- “I saw her actually dancing with the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack.”
- “You mean the notorious alpha? That can’t be! Tell me it’s not true, Gabby?” They turned and looked at me in the back.
- “How do you know he is the Alpha? The guy I danced with is a sweet guy and not a killer.”
- “Wait a minute, can you repeat what you just said?” Jane requested politely, blinking her eyes at me.
- “Repeat what?”
- “The sweet guy, tell me again.”
- “I never said that.” I felt so shy again.
- “Ladies, this is a serious matter here. In the male restroom, I saw him there with his beta. The greetings made me know he was the one. Tell me, he wore a red suit and a blue dragon mask, am I right?” Steve explained in detail.
- Truly I am doomed. If Father should find out, it is all over for me.
- “I guess maybe another person got dressed like him. Why would a powerful Alpha like him want to dance with someone like me? It’s absurd. Let’s just go home; I feel tired.” I lied again.
- I really want to go home and be in my room now to think straight without seeing anyone.
- “Well, Steve, she wore a mask so he will never recognize her as the Alpha's daughter. Let’s take her home.”
- “If you say so.”
- A few moments later, they got me home, and I waved at them before walking to the building.
- I know Father and Tracy will be training now, so sneaking into my room won't be alarming.
- Taking a few steps to my room door, I heard Father’s voice from behind, “GABRIELLA!!!!!!”
- Damn it, what should I say to Father? There is no way I am telling him about the party. He is going to skin me alive. Just breathe and maintain a smile.
- “Good morning, Father.”
- He looked at me disgusted, “What is good about the morning? Tell me, and why are you dressed like a whore?”
- “I just decided to try out the dress Jane got for me, and that’s all.”
- "Shameless child," Father slapped me hard across the face, causing blood to trickle from my nose. As I saw the blood, hot tears welled up in my eyes.
- "You are nothing but a disgrace to this family. Why can't you be more like your sister Tracy? You are useless to both the family and the pack," he yelled, his hand raised as if ready to strike again. I begged immediately.
- "Father, I'm sorry. I swear, I'm trying my hardest."
- "Try even harder if you wish to be considered a true member of this family. Stop flirting with men and manifest your wolf."
- "Father, I'm doing my best. I didn't choose to be an omega. Why do you hate me so much?" I felt even more broken, but my father's eyes remained cold. He continued to regard me with nothing but hatred and disgust. Not a single tear seemed capable of touching his heart. It seemed my sister, the pack's warrior, had completely won over our father's affection. At this point, I wondered if even a maid held more importance to him than I did.
- "Silence your trash of a mouth. Your punishment is to clean the training room. You won't receive any food until it's done," he declared before leaving.
- I entered my room, locking the door behind me. Slumping against the door, I slid down to the floor and let out all my tears. What had I done to deserve this immense hatred? All I wanted was my father's love. Was that really too much to ask for? Why couldn't he love me as much as he loved my sister? After all, we were blood sisters, not just step sisters.
- I composed myself and took a proper bath before beginning my punishment. I longed to communicate with my wolf form, but it seemed impossible. I had never shifted, leaving me with limited chances to connect with her. Loneliness consumed me.
- Walking to the kitchen later for my meal, I suddenly lost my appetite. I returned to the living room and sank onto the couch, ruminating on my father's hurtful words.
- Tears streamed down my face. If my father despised me this much, what would he do if he discovered I had slept with the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack? I had slept with our pack's enemy, a man who had killed his own father to seize power. What should I do now? At least he hadn't seen my face, sparing me from the trouble it could have caused.
- As I thought about it, the Alpha had a way with words, and I hadn't sensed any malevolence from him. What if...
- I decided to keep the night's events to myself and refrain from telling Tracy. She would be deeply disappointed if she ever found out. This would become my secret to bear from now on.
