- "Fuck me!" I swore, resisting the urge to facepalm, when Nicholas started advancing towards me. I debated in my mind between walking away along the shore or going back to his brother's vehicle. Robert wasn't so bad after all; in fact, he and I were quickly becoming friends. He had slipped his car keys beneath my bedroom door when I stayed locked up inside, without the knowledge of my mother. He said I was free to go for a drive, go shopping, or do whatever I wanted as long as I got some fresh air.
- "Came here hoping to see me?" His voice drifted into my ears despite the light wind.
