Chapter 166 Trevor's Disappointment
- As Kaleb was about to make his escape, Trevor beat him to it and left the lounge. He then followed the latter behind him and gritted his teeth while warning Zachary. "Just wait and see, Zachary. You'd better not fall in love with any of these women, or Trevor and I will surely make you pay!" Deeming himself the same kind of man as Trevor, Kaleb was annoyed by Zachary for pulling a prank on them by summoning the group of ladies. Besides, he believed Trevor was not in the mood to entertain the ladies, knowing the latter, not to mention the fact that he couldn't stop thinking about Emma.
- While Kaleb made himself scarce upon finishing his sentence, Zachary was left behind, laughing out loud gleefully. However, he later waved his hand and dismissed the ladies before he stepped out of the lounge and saw Trevor smoking with Kaleb. Soon, he walked closer to them and leaned on the handrail on the side of the corridor, gazing at Trevor. "There are many ways that could help you pull yourself together, but giving up is definitely not one of them. So, have you considered letting her go?"
- Trevor rolled his eyes upward in response, feeling annoyed to hear Zachary's useless suggestion because he wouldn't have been in so much pain had he been able to do that. At that moment, he suddenly understood why Emma would marry him despite his indifferent attitude and occasional insults. She must have felt so unhappy with me back then; she must have hoped that I would look at her and give her my heart; she must have also hoped to start a happy family with me and raise our kids together for the rest of our life. While Trevor was able to empathize with Emma in hindsight, he quickly wondered how she was able to put those feelings behind her and move on. At the thought of that, he was overwhelmed by regret and remorse as he blamed himself for having broken her heart back then.
