Chapter 2 Warning

  • No matter how exquisite the gift was, no matter how deep her heart was, even if it was as profound as the sea.
  • In George’s eyes, she was nothing more than a trash.
  • Jennifer laughed in despair, staring unwaveringly at the man who had placed so much pain on her.
  • The man’s mouth curved in a mocking smile.
  • “Comfortable? It’s still too early for you to regret getting what you want by hook or by crook!”
  • Her white and tender skin couldn’t withstand the ravages of the man. The azure and violet scars on her body were enough to shock anyone.
  • But the man only used her as a tool for venting his anger.
  • There was no trace of pity in his eyes.
  • Jennifer endured it so that she wouldn’t look too weak.
  • “George, no one will ever love you as much as I do.”
  • “George, you will regret this!”
  • “George…”
  • Jennifer shouted his name one after another. The sound was fragmented, her nails dug into the man’s back.
  • “What qualification does someone like you have to say the word ‘love’?”
  • Jennifer could not bear it anymore and tears rolled down from her eyes.
  • After being husband and wife for five years, it was the first time George saw her cry.
  • Heartache?
  • Absolutely not!
  • How could George love Jennifer?
  • It was just a trick, huh.
  • George said in a cold voice, “Jennifer, when you chased Carol away and forced me to marry you, you should have known that what awaited you was only pain that was hundred times worse than mine!”
  • “It’s not me…” She left by herself…
  • Jennifer desperately tried to explain herself.
  • Five years ago, in order to Arnoult Group overcome their financial crisis, Jennifer bet five billion on the entire Thomson Group.
  • She had to save him at any cost.
  • At that time, George’s girlfriend, Carol, left the country without a word.
  • Jennifer though that there was no one else in the world who would love George more than her.
  • She used all her family’s wealth that her parents had left her in exchange for becoming Mrs. Arnoult.
  • But what came after was George’s five years of hatred and torture.
  • “When you cry, it’s really disgusting.”
  • The man put his hand on her mouth, leaving only a low whimper.
  • Once the bright and arrogant Jennifer Thomson, who won thousands of hearts by her actions, became a little slave that could only cry sorrowfully beneath him.
  • After being satisfied, the man returned to the bedroom, tossed and turned till the next morning.
  • Jennifer was like a broken child, abandoned on the messy sofa.
  • The man changed into a suit and pair of leather shoes, walked out of the house.
  • He didn’t even look at the lifeless woman.
  • When he opened the door, a warm and sweet voice sounded outside of the door.
  • “George…”
  • Looking at the petite figure in front of him, George unnoticeably frowned. “Why are you here?”
  • “I… I miss you.”
  • Carol said softly. As if she had suffered some great grievances, she said feeling wronged. “I am sorry, George. I didn’t mean to leave you that year. It’s. . . It’s just that I didn’t have any other choice! Please believe me, George!”
  • Carol wiped her tears away and sobbed softly. “After I went abroad, I truly realized how much I love you! I really can’t live without you. So, I came back. I came to find Jennifer to beg her not to chase me away anymore. I won’t threaten her identity as Mrs. Arnoult.”
  • Hearing this, George immediately became angry. “What? You came to say this?”
  • Carol sobbed and wiped her tears as she nodded.
  • Inside the home, Jennifer clearly heard their conversation.
  • It turned out that Carol had returned.
  • No wonder George was so abnormal and angry yesterday. He seemed as if he was going to tear her apart.
  • Jennifer understood it. However, a hole seemed to have suddenly opened up in her heart. Fresh blood continued to gush out.
  • She wanted to cover the wound with all her might, hoping that it would heal by herself. However, she realized that not only was she unable to stop bleeding, but she was about to lose her life.
  • Jennifer opened her mouth and laughed at herself.
  • She took the pajamas and put it on. The bruise on her arm and neck couldn’t be hidden, so she lifted her long hair to cover it over. She walked to the door.
  • A trace of jealousy flashed on Carol’s eyes as she saw the traces of love on Jennifer’s body.
  • However, it quickly turned into a frightened look and she reached out to grab George’s arm. “Jennifer, don’t look at me like this… I really never thought of fighting you with the position of Mrs. Arnoult. I just love George so much and wanted to stay by his side…”
  • Jennifer had a cold smile on her face, “So, this is the reason why you’re willing to be a mistress?”
  • “Jennifer, I truly love George.”
  • Carol looked at her pitifully. Her watery eyes started to tear up. “If you hadn’t come… I would always be with him. I tried to leave him, but I couldn’t do it. I really can’t do it, so don’t force me anymore, okay?”
  • “I forced you?” Jennifer sneered.
  • This woman’s ability to twist black and white was even more proficient than five years ago.
  • “If she likes to waste energy, then so be it.”
  • George interrupted them and stepped out of the door. He didn’t even want to talk to Jennifer.
  • Carol was the person at the apex of his heart.
  • As for Jennifer, she was just forcefully keeping him by her side, a despicable and shameless person by the side of his bed.
  • They couldn’t be compared from the very beginning.
  • “George.” Jennifer stood up somewhat stiffly.
  • She could no longer speak anything other than calling out his name.
  • The man turned his head, his voice was ice cold, “Jennifer, let me warn you. Even if there is a slight loss of Carol’s hair, I will take it back from you thousands of times.”
  • Jennifer looked at him silently. There was an ocean of sorrow in her eyes.
  • What need was there for a warning?
  • Hadn’t he been doing this for the past five years?
  • Jennifer had a lot of things she wanted to say to him. But at this moment, she suddenly couldn’t say a single word.
  • Leaning against the man’s chest, Carol turned her head around without a trace as the corner of her lips curled up slightly.
  • Jennifer, what right do you have to compete with me?
  • Just wait and watch! I will make your life miserable!
