Chapter 63
- I had spent almost the entire weekend with Valentina and the kids. The four of us had played on the beach until the sun finally dipped below the horizon and cooled the air, ending the almost perfect day with dinner and ice cream. On Sunday morning, I received a text message inviting me to breakfast, a shared meal filled with laughter and tranquility, one that seemed to shape a sort of truce between Jonas and me. While a trace of his distrust still lingered, he seemed to slowly be coming to terms with the idea of me being a part of Valentina and the twins' lives.
