Chapter 1 A Raid and Exile?
- "What are we going to do? The War God's Estate is on the verge of being raided, and we might face exile too!"
- "Duke Heyward was called to the palace and hasn't come back. What can we do as his followers?"
- "But exile could mean death! Duke Heyward won a battle, and now he's about to be raided and lose everything ... "
- Tammy Walton opened her eyes, disoriented, and immediately noticed two young girls in green dresses darting out of the room. Outside, the clamor was overwhelming, sounding as if someone were smashing everything in sight.
- This situation ... feels like something out of a historical drama.
- But I died during a mission although I had special abilities. Is this the afterlife?
- Tammy's head spun as a rush of unfamiliar memories flooded her mind, causing a sharp pain in her temples. She quickly came to two realizations.
- First, she had somehow transmigrated into the body of a villainess from a book, a woman known for marrying through deceit.
- Second, she was in serious trouble—set to be exiled along with her husband the day after her wedding. The original character had likely died of anger for ending up like this after so much scheming.
- There was no time to sort through the chaos in her mind. Tammy leaped to her feet. Being banished to the wilderness was not an option; she couldn't afford to sit idly by.
- Fortunately, since the original character wasn't favored, the vast estate appeared to be oblivious to her presence. Tammy swiftly activated her powers, transporting her wedding gifts from the storage room into her personal space.
- That's right—she wasn't merely someone with abilities; she was a renowned healer, equipped with a medical space stocked with various supplies and tools that had saved her life in the past.
- However, surviving in the wilderness would require much more than that, so she needed to gather additional supplies.
- In a hurry, she stored her wedding gifts from the courtyard into her space, grimacing at the thought. The original character's father was incredibly stingy—there were plenty of wedding gifts, but nothing of real worth.
- Tammy had a tendency to take what wasn't hers, even if it was useless. As she stepped outside, she was greeted by the sight of the chaotic estate, where everyone was in a frenzy like ants caught in a boiling pot.
- No one seemed to notice her—until a disheveled woman caught sight of her and yelled angrily, "Tammy, this is all your fault! How dare you show your face here! You're going to get me killed!"
- Tammy recalled her memories and recognized the woman as Gloria Williamson, the original character's archrival. Gloria had failed to win the affection of the War God, Remus Heyward, and had instead married his cousin, Ryan Heyward.
- Unintentionally or not, Gloria had chosen to marry on the same day as the original character.
- "Duke Heyward has been urgently summoned to the palace. We're all waiting to see what happens, and instead of figuring out how to handle this, you come here to bother me? Are you insane?" Tammy shot back coldly, unwilling to waste time arguing.
- But Gloria wouldn't back down, pressing her point further. Frustrated, Tammy delivered a swift kick that sent Gloria sprawling, glaring as she warned, "Don't mess with me!"
- With a gust of wind, she departed. If it weren't for the original character's lingering debt to Remus, she would have run away by now!
- But since she had taken on the original character's identity, she felt compelled to repay the favor before leaving; she couldn't kick Remus while he was down.
- With Remus summoned to the palace, the order for the raiding of their house would arrive soon. Tammy didn't want to waste a moment.
- "Tammy!"
- Gloria, having been kicked across the ground, landed in a heap, her jewelry scattered, her clothing disheveled, and a bump forming on her head.
- She was so enraged she nearly fainted, but at that moment, Tammy had vanished without a trace.
- Tammy hurried to collect supplies, determined to avoid any interruptions caused by people like Gloria. With a quick flick of her wrist, she activated her powers and instantly vanished.
- Aside from her useless husband's hidden stash, Tammy cleared out every storeroom in the estate, leaving no corner untouched, not even the kitchen.
- As the residents of the estate panicked and rushed around, Tammy's stealthy operation went unnoticed.
- Next, she made her way to the Waltons' Residence, owned by the family of the original character. According to the book, the original character's wedding gifts had been entirely drained by her stepmother, and Tammy wasn't about to let others take advantage of her.
- In a flash, she arrived at Mariah Barrett's private vault. It was an impressive sight, filled with silks, gold, silver, jewels, and books, among other treasures.
- Mariah used to be just a mistress, and it was clear that these valuables rightfully belonged to the original character's mother. Without hesitation, Tammy seized everything, leaving no trace behind.
- She even cleaned out all the food and vegetables from the expansive kitchen at the Waltons' Residence. On her way there, she overheard her father speaking.
- "War God really is unfortunate. I thought he'd be rewarded after his victory, which was why I let my daughter marry him. Who could have imagined that the king's heart is so fickle?"
- "Mr. Walton, what should we do? There are too many people in the estate; we can't let them drag us down."
- "We must sever ties wit her!"
- The man's voice was firm, and Tammy paused for a moment. If that's the case, then I will no longer hold back!
- Initially planning to leave them some scraps, Tammy returned to the grand vault of the Waltons and took every last bit of gold, silver, and food.
- She didn't spare her half-siblings' hidden treasures either—leaving them with not even a grain of rice.
- Thinking about her useless husband reminded Tammy of the plot in the book. Oh, right—the original male lead, the sixth prince, Wilbur Nicholl, and his wretched father, the king, were the ones who had conspired against them.
- Their treatment of those who served them, only to discard them when finished, is disgusting. I can't allow them to escape unpunished!
- So, she quickly teleported to Wilbur's residence. Wow, this place is dripping with wealth.
- Rubbing her hands together, Tammy eagerly started collecting treasures. Compared to the ordinary gold and silver at the Waltons, Wilbur had gathered an impressive assortment of rare gems and artifacts. She wasn't shy about taking it all.
- She emptied several storerooms in Wilbur's residence and, just as she was about to leave, stumbled upon a basement.
- Stepping inside, she gasped at the sight of chests overflowing with gold and provisions, not to mention a stockpile of fine weapons. Clearly, he's the one planning to rebel!
- Taking what she could carry, Tammy ensured that the enemies wouldn't profit from anything!
- With a swift motion, she left the basement empty and quickly teleported to the palace.
- The palace was heavily guarded, and keeping the well-being of the common people in mind, Tammy refrained from going too overboard. She only took the king's and queen's private stash.
- After all, the queen had insulted the original character, calling her a b*tch!
- Knowing that the palace's royal chefs were renowned, Tammy snagged a few items from the royal kitchen before she left.
- By the time she breathlessly returned to the War God's Estate, officials had already arrived to raid the estate. Tammy didn't even have time to drink a glass of water, but she recalled a granary she hadn't looted on her way back. She wouldn't let the king have anything!
- Finally, when she stepped into her own courtyard, no one seemed to have noticed her absence. Sigh, the original character really was overlooked.
- Tammy sat down for a moment, gulping down a glass of water. Entering her space, she gazed at the gleaming treasures and couldn't help but smile.
- Unfortunately, time was running out; otherwise, she would have loved to buy some food from Aviara's gourmet shop. Listening to the sounds of chaos outside—the clanging of soldiers and the cries of women—Tammy realized, They are here!
- The officials have come to seize the estate!
- In a hurry, she grabbed some snacks from her space to quiet her hunger before calmly walking to the front yard.
- By the time Tammy reached the front yard, it was complete disarray. The ground was littered with debris, and women from various households were on their knees, crying out in despair.
