Chapter 3

  • Helene's face darkened even more when she heard this, and she scowled angrily at Cielo.
  • Cielo clenched her lips in concentration. Was 'Troy' acting in this manner on purpose?
  • Helene drew Cielo into the living room as a result of this incident. Only then did she decide to shake Cielo's handoff.
  • Her face contorted with rage as she stared at Cielo. "Who the heck is that man?" Helene inquired.
  • "He's Tyler's cousin," Cielo explained after a brief pause.
  • "Slap!"
  • Cielo's face was smacked without warning in the beginning. Cielo's ears were ringing as a result of the force with which Heleen had struck her.
  • "How could you be so blatantly selfish?" You're already having fun with your husband's cousin on your first day of marriage! What a squandering of time! What are your exact thoughts? Make certain that the Hill is not included in this mess!"
  • Cielo lowered her gaze and rubbed the side of her face that had gone numb from the pain. "Why didn't you ask if I was doing it willingly?" she inquired, a chilly expression on her face as she looked up at Heleen.
  • Whatever the situation, Helene would always scold her without questioning why she had done it in the first place.
  • "One is a worthless cripple with a broken face, and the other is a normal, healthy guy." They are an insufficient contrast. There are no prizes for guessing who you would pick. Were you able to spend the night with your husband's "relative" as well?
  • Coming down the stairs was the sound of a sweet feminine voice. The voice was gentle, but it was filled with hatred.
  • "Clarisse, are you feeling better?" Helene asked as soon as she saw Vivian come down the stairs.
  • "I'm feeling a lot better now, Mom," Clarisse said to Helene, smiling. "Thank you," she said as she approached Cielo. I completely understand how you feel. However, keep in mind that our family is also involved. "Don't cross the line here."
  • Clarisse had just stood by the upstairs window and witnessed Cielo and a guy having an intimate encounter in the car. Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine Cielo, who appeared foolish and unattractive on the outside, would be endowed with the ability to captivate men.
  • With a sly grin, she turned to face Helene and asked, "Am I right, Mom?"
  • Helene's face lit up with joy in the blink of an eye. "Of course, you're correct, Clarisse," she says.
  • Cielo clenched her fists and pursed her lips without saying anything.
  • Clarisse appeared to be Helene's biological daughter to those who did not know her.
  • Helene had been attempting to satisfy everyone in the Hill family for many years in order to establish herself as a member of the family, whether by fair or foul means. Cielo, on the other hand, was treated by her mother as if she were an adopted child.
  • "Cielo, you should respect your position because you've already married into the Smith family." "Don't bring our family into disrepute," Helene said, pulling her grin away and making a serious face at Cielo.
  • Cielo lowered her gaze to hide the sarcasm that was bursting from them. Her expression indicated that she had been mistreated, and she responded calmly, "I'm sorry." "As a result of your words, something has occurred to me. If I did something wrong one day, I wonder if the Smiths would be so enraged that they would destroy the entire Hill family as a result of my transgression.
  • Clarisse had not expected Cielo, who had always been a sweetheart, to be so cruel to her. "What do you mean?" she asked, furrowing her brows even further.
  • "That's exactly what you heard." Cielo blinked and raised her head. Her face was expressionless and unremarkable in comparison to her usual self.
  • Did Helen and Clarisse truly believe they still had control over me?
  • She had previously granted them permission to do so because she still hoped to see her mother. However, when Helene forced her to marry Tyler on Clarisse's behalf, they were out of luck.
  • "How dare you!" says the narrator.
  • Despite having been under Clarisse's control for a long time, this was the first time Cielo had taken a stand against her.
  • Clarisse was so enraged that she glared at Cielo before turning to face Helene, "Mom, I was just trying to help by giving her some advice." "How did she get the right to act out?"
  • Helene, of course, recognized the threat in Clarisse's remark. She put on the air because she believed Cielo had never failed to compromise her in the past. "Cielo, apologize to Clarisse as soon as possible!" she insisted.
  • Cielo looked Helene in the eyes and said, "I don't care." "Would you like me to apologize?" No way, no how!"
  • According to Helen's recollection, e Cielo was brilliant and lovely when she was a child. However, as she grew older, she became the polar opposite. She'd never seen Cielo with such a razor-sharp stare before, and the realization sent shivers down her spine.
  • "Let's just put it out of our minds," she said, grabbing her chin and turning to face Clarisse. If we put too much strain on her..."
  • Clarisse was adamant about not giving up, but she had to admit defeat.
  • Is it possible that Cielo overstepped his bounds and enraged the Hill? Clarisse would be forced to give up everything if the Smith family was harmed.
  • Cielo went upstairs to her room and began packing her belongings as soon as she realized they were terrified of her.
  • Despite having lived at Hill Villa for twenty years, she had incredibly few possessions, as if she were living under someone else's roof.
  • The hall was completely empty when she returned downstairs with her bag.
  • She took a deep breath and left the property through the back door, her feet firmly planted on the ground.
  • Tyler's'relative' seemed to be interested in her, even though she couldn't figure out why, and she realized it was best to avoid him.
  • ......
  • Tyler's face darkened when he couldn't see Cielo after a long wait at the front gate.
  • Suddenly, the information he had read about her the day before flooded back into his mind. "Is that unattractive lady being bullied by her family again?" he wondered. He frowned.
  • With this in mind, he couldn't stop himself from reaching out and touching the side of his face that had been smacked by her. He snorted, assuring himself that she wasn't a pushover in the first place.
  • "Would you like to come in and take a seat, Sir?" He was described in a sweet feminine voice.
  • Tyler noticed a delicate-looking lady standing near the car, bending his head to peer out the window.
  • Clarisse was taken aback when she saw his face for the first time.
  • Cielo had not expected the guy who was having sexual relations with her to be so attractive and pleasant.
  • How could a man of such renown fall for a naive and unattractive bumpkin like Cielo?
  • On the surface, it appeared that she had made the correct decision to come out and try her luck.
  • Tyler, on the other hand, could see right through her.
  • "Who are you?" he demanded, snarling.
  • "My name is Clarisse, and I'm Cielo's younger sister." Tyler's apathetic demeanor made her completely unconcerned.
  • Clarisse?
  • Tyler remembered the Hills having two daughters. Apart from Cielo, the other person was none other than his fiancée.
  • According to the general public, Clarisse was stunning. He was surprised to find Cielo more visually appealing than he had anticipated.
  • "Where is Cielo?" he asked, his face expressionless, because he couldn't bear the thought of conversing with her any longer.
  • "I... At this point, I'm guessing she's still packing in her room. She begged me to let you into the house." Clarisse was determined not to waste this opportunity. She reasoned that because he was related to the Smiths, he must have come from a wealthy family. Not to mention that he was quite attractive.
  • When Tyler realized he could see right through her, he couldn't help but snort. He couldn't believe Cielo would extend him an invitation to her home.
  • Instead, she must have fled the house before I arrived!
  • Tyler rolled down his window and drove away without a second thought for Clarisse.
  • Clarisse had never before had a guy give her the cold shoulder. Her rage was visible on her face, which was quite amusing.
  • ...............
  • Cielo returned to her rented apartment right away.
  • She has lived in the on-campus dormitory since beginning college. She moved into a leased property to live with her parents after graduating and completing an internship.
  • She would never have set foot in Hill Villa if Helene hadn't locked her up at home and forced her to marry the Smith family.
  • After all, since Tyler wasn't staying at the villa and had declined to pay her a visit, she reasoned that staying in her own home wouldn't be such a big deal.
  • It was late afternoon by the time Cielo finished unpacking. She made the decision to leave the house and go shopping.
  • Her rented apartment was in a well-known New York slum. Because it lacked an adequate public transportation system, it was home to people from all walks of life.
  • When Cielo turned into an alley, she was startled to hear a loud boom.
  • When she looked up, she saw a white vehicle charging towards her like a rabid stray dog.
  • She swerved quickly to avoid being hit by the car. When the car passed her, the door swung open, and a tall man leaped out.
  • He rolled over to Cielo's feet, his head in his hands.
  • The guy jumped to his feet and pushed something hard against her temple, stopping her in her tracks. "Quick, get me out of here," he said, his pleasant voice sounding a little too familiar to her.
  • When Cielo raised her gaze to the man's face, she muttered, "Troy?"
