Chapter 3 Amelia The Assistant

  • Ashlynn's loud voice caught the attention of everyone present, including Asher, whose gaze immediately turned towards her and Amelia.
  • Fortunately, he only glanced at them before walking away without saying a word, leaving the hotel.
  • Once everyone had left, Ashlynn approached Amelia with a curious expression on her face.
  • She wondered aloud, "Why did Mr. Fullerton ask that?"
  • She found herself completely puzzled by the turn of events. She had expected some exciting news, but the outcome was extremely underwhelming.
  • Amelia breathed a sigh of relief When she spoke, her voice was hoarse. "The view from my room is quite nice. Maybe he wants to switch rooms."
  • "Really? That's it?" Ashlynn questioned.
  • "That's the CEO we're talking about."
  • Ashlynn shrugged her shoulders, also realizing that there was no connection between Asher and Amelia. The gap between them was too wide.
  • "Hey, do you think someone as cold as Mr. Fullerton would be passionate in bed? Given his height size, I bet he's well-endowed!"
  • To say he was passionate in bed might be an exaggeration. As for the size Amelia supposed he could be considered well-endowed. Although she had no basis for comparison, it took nearly an hour of fumbling around last night before they got intimate.
  • Wait, wait! What am I thinking?
  • Indeed, just as one can be influenced by their surroundings, I'm getting inappropriate thoughts from spending too much time with Ashlynn.
  • Soon, Benjamin arrived in the lobby, dressed impeccably in his business suit and leather shoes. His hairline was receding, and a future bald spot seemed likely. He took the documents from Amelia's hand and quickly skimmed through them, his voice filled with displeasure. "The Indicative Opening Price has been tightening over the past two years, and it wasn't easy to facilitate this project, and now this happens! If the margin call is too high, you will lose your bonus!"
  • Amelia remained silent, while Ashlynn secretly gave him a disdainful look. Wasn't this mess created by yourself? You even signed yourself as the margin call party just to secure the project!
  • Suddenly, Benjamin's gaze fell upon Amelia, and he scrutinized her as if he was plotting something. His voice, which had been stern before, now softened considerably.
  • "Amy, if I remember correctly, you're from Jacaster, right?" he asked.
  • Amelia replied, "Yes, I'm from Strico, Jacaster."
  • "Perfect! Mr. Fullerton is from Jacaster too. Tonight, I'll try to invite him for dinner. Can you use the fact that you're fellow townspeople to inquire him?"
  • Although he made it sound like he was seeking her opinion, Amelia had no choice but to comply with his request.
  • However, the thought of meeting Asher again filled her with dread.
  • Amelia gently said, "Mr. Coleman, I'm afraid my status may not be enough to engage in a conversation with Mr. Fullerton, right?"
  • "Isn't it normal to strike up a conversation when you're sitting close to each other at a table, drinking wine?" Benjamin retorted.
  • "But—"
  • "It's settled then. Dress up nicely tonight, and don't embarrass me!"
  • With that, Benjamin headed straight for the hotel exit. Ashlynn, speechless, rolled her eyes and follow him out alongside Amelia.
  • In the evening, after the first round of negotiations with the head of Ascenda Corporation, Benjamin urged Amelia to return to the hotel to prepare for their dinner with Asher.
  • No one knew exactly how Benjamin did it, but Asher had indeed appeared in the hotel's private room.
  • As soon as Amelia entered the room, she immediately noticed him seated at the head of the table.
  • Asher had taken off his suit coat and placed it over the armrest. He unbuttoned a few of the top buttons of his white shirt with his slender fingers, revealing his Adam's apple. The gold-rimmed glasses resting on his nose emphasized his features, giving him an air of restrained allure.
  • There were four individuals in the private room: Amelia, Benjamin, Asher, and his personal secretary.
  • Observing Amelia's hesitation, Benjamin quickly approached her and helped her pull out the chair closest to Asher. "Come, Amy, sit here."
  • She paused for a moment, but gathered her courage and walked over.
  • Before she could take her seat,.Asher's cold voice interrupted her.."Isn't Amelia an assistant? When did she switch to an escort?"
