Chapter 23 Trouble

I froze the moment I saw Laura and my heart skipped, I examined her expression immediately to know where I stood. Did she hear or see anything? I was certain that she had not seen me coming here, or did she? But it has been more than an hour since then, why come now?
"Hey, is everything okay?" Laura asked as she approached me. I noticed that she was wearing a normal expression on her face, if not that of surprise.
“Um, yeah, totally,” I said immediately and tried to act normal. My whole being was vibrating in fear, why does what she thinks of me matter so much to me?
