Chapter 8 Hurt

  • “Stop it!” I screamed “Let go of me, Coleman! Don’t do this!" I cried pushing him off me, but he weighed me down and went for my lips. This time he caught it and pushed his tongue in my mouth.
  • Oh, God! This is not happening to me!!!
  • The smell of danger was choking. His home was in a distant estate and no one would save me.
  • I tried to move away, but he wouldn't let go. He kissed me roughly, and then his hands went under my skirt. “If I don’t have you, nobody else will.”
  • I yelped. Jilted. And tried escaping him but Coleman wasn’t thinking. He wasn’t thinking about me or the consequences that could come from this.
  • He didn’t think about my reputation or his. He wanted to have his way. And his way, he will get.
  • I tried pushing him again, but he pinned both of my hands to the bed and used his left hand to unbutton his shirt. He flung it where his trousers was.
  • I could feel his erection. My eyes zeroed in fear.
  • Tears clogged my eyes, and throat. I hate this sickening feeling. The disgust and fear swirling in my gut.
  • Not again, no one would take advantage of me. No more.
  • I stretched my hands in desperation; to hold anything close by. My fingers touched the empty glass of wine on the table— and I took it up and hit him on his head.
  • “Argggggggh!” He groaned in pain, distracted as he touched his blood.
  • After pushing him away, I quickly stood up. "Sarah..." he began, but with tears caressing my cheeks, I broke free from his grip and swiftly ran out of the house.
  • "Sarah, wait!" I heard him call.
  • I ignored his calls, sprinted to the gate, opened it, and ran a distance.
  • Finally, I found a cab on the road and boarded it.
  • Returning home, I felt furious and disturbed. Paranoia gripped me. Was sex all he wanted from me? How could he?
  • I was scared.
  • So, if I was unable to stop him, he would have raped me. Coleman was the least person I thought would hurt me. He was perfect. I heard my phone ringing— when I peeped to check, I discovered that he was the one calling.
  • I ended the call, silenced my phone, and distanced it from me.
  • Finally, when the cab man stopped at the front of my house, I ran to my room and locked the door. I jumped on the bed, and stared at the ceiling.
  • How could I have made the mistake of falling for Coleman?
  • Lost in brooding, I drifted into sleep without even realizing it and woke up hours later.
  • My body system was still feeling heavy and muzzy. Well, how wouldn't it? I had been thinking even in my dreams.
  • Surprised, I checked my phone to find 20 missed calls and 2 messages. All messages were from Coleman. The first one simply said, "I am sorry, Sarah”
  • And the second said “please, stop ignoring my calls. Pick up please. Give me a chance to explain.”
  • I rolled my eyes and dropped the phone back on the bed. The whole thing still feels like a dream to me. I was about to pick up the phone again when I heard a knock on the door and sluggishly went to check it out.
  • I opened the door and surprisingly, it was Zara.
  • A little scowl etched on my face. I didn't want to see anybody and was very grumpy.
  • "Geez! What the hell's wrong with you, Sarah? Why weren't you picking your calls? I called for like a hundred times" she said immediately, not even giving me a chance to say anything.
  • She had on black pants, white top and black boots.
  • "I only missed two calls from you, Zara. Stop being dramatic" I I said tiredly, as I made way for her to come in.
  • "Hold on;" she suddenly snarled.
  • "Why are you still in uniform?" Zara questioned, and I shrugged. If only she knew…
  • She scoffed, "Really? Do you realize what time it is? Sarah, you're gonna be late for Damian’s concert!"
  • Damian’s concert? Damian is having a concert? Who cares!
  • “Don’t tell me that you aren’t aware of your fiance’s concert. You can’t miss it!” she told me.
  • “No! I’m not going.” Just then my phone beeped with a message. It was from Dad.
  • “Hello Pumpkin,
  • Damian would be having a concert at the circle hall beside the museum. Do not miss it.”
  • Zara peeped into my phone and laughed heartily, then she pushed me into the bathroom.
  • [Author’s Pov]
  • Coleman walked into the club, and met a petite woman dressed in a black gown with a large scarf covering her face. Her fingers held out a Cigarette, and she puffed out more. Coleman sat beside her, ordering a strong drink from the bartender.
  • After being served, he spoke without looking at the woman "I’m sorry, Boss. I couldn’t get her pregnant. She getting married to Damian Delance,"
  • “You are nothing but an idiot.” She muttered through clenched teeth, dropping the half-smoked cigarette onto the Ash-tray.
  • "No matter what,” the woman grumbled “we can't lose her. She's the weapon we need to achieve our plans. So, stick to her tight!”
