• As spring infused my world and Veronica publicly voiced her agreement to leave with me, I still couldn't fathom the truth of it. Doubt lingered, pushing me to seek clarity. "Can we have a private conversation?" I inquired. Veronica remained silent, prompting me to request Thomas's approval. "Of course," he replied, giving me the go-ahead to talk to Veronica.
• We made our way to the palace's secluded garden, a sanctuary brimming with vibrant flowers, majestic trees, and an artificial lake. Upon reaching a purposefully crafted bench, I gestured for Veronica to take a seat. We sat there, enveloped in an unusual silence.
