Chapter 1 I Would Give You 100 Million
- "If you want to marry my daughter, 2 million dollars please, not a penny less!
- "Amelia is already eighteen, so she’s old enough to marry!
- "Transfer the money to my account, and it's settled!"
- Amelia was in shock. "Mom, I'm only eighteen! I'm still a student! You want me to get married now? Why?"
- Isabella rolled her eyes. "We’ll arrange everything now and wait two years to make it official. You’re young, so you can still marry and secure a 2 million-dollar dowry. That’s enough for a house!"
- To her mother, she was worth no more than a house.
- "Sophia is eighteen too, the same age as me, so why don't you arrange her marriage?" Amelia protested.
- Isabella scoffed. "How can you compare to Sophia? You’re not smart, and you’re not good at your studies. Sophia is prettier, her grades are better, and she’s the daughter I’ve carefully raised. Her future is bright!"
- Amelia shouted in frustration, "But I’m your real daughter! Sophia was the one who was swapped with me at birth!"
- Eighteen years ago, the hospital had mixed up two babies.
- Amelia ended up in an orphanage and was only found a year ago.
- Sophia, who should have grown up in an orphanage, lived a life of privilege, taking Amelia's place!
- "Shut up! You were raised in the countryside, and I wish I had never given birth to you! You’re nothing but a disgrace to me!"
- Sophia’s eyes briefly showed a hint of mockery as she pretended to be concerned. "Amelia, Mom is just thinking of what’s best for you. Don’t make her angry, just apologize to mom!"
- "Sophia, don’t defend her. To me, she’s nothing more than a burden!"
- To Isabella, the Sophia she had raised for eighteen years was her true daughter.
- Amelia, who had been lost and raised in the countryside, was just a bumpkin—a stain on Isabella’s reputation that she couldn’t erase!
- "Either you give me 2 million dollars now, or you agree to get married to get 2 million dollars!"
- ……
- Amelia wandered aimlessly, kicking a stone as she walked.
- Remembering Isabella's cruel words, her heart ached deeply.
- Suddenly, a powerful force struck her from behind.
- A man landed on top of her, nearly crushing the breath out of her!
- "Quick, catch him! Don’t let him escape!"
- "How is he still running with a bad leg?"
- "Useless! Get him!"
- The man's deep, raspy voice whispered in Amelia's ear, so alluring that it was almost hypnotic. "Help me, and I'll give you 100 million dollars!"
- Amelia was about to push him away when she paused. "100 million?"
- With determined grit, she quickly hid the man in a pile of cardboard boxes nearby.
- She then put down her backpack and pretended to focus on her homework as if nothing were amiss.
- "Hey, did you see a man with a limp around here?" one of the men in black asked threateningly.
- Amelia pretended to think for a moment before pointing in a random direction, as if she had just remembered. "He went that way."
- "After him!"
- Once they left, Amelia quickly pulled the man out of hiding.
- "Where’s my 100 million? Give it to me!" she demanded, extending her hand.
- The man’s face was flushed, and he was unconscious, not responding to her calls.
- With great effort, Amelia dragged him into a nearby hotel.
- "I'm exhausted!"
- She carelessly dropped him onto the bed, then went to the bathroom, wet a towel, and wiped his face clean.
- Only then did she realize how incredibly handsome he was.
- The man appeared to be about thirty years old, with strikingly handsome and chiseled features. He had a straight, strong nose and perfectly shaped, thin lips, as if he were a masterpiece created by a divine hand.
- Suddenly, the man’s eyes snapped open, revealing sharp, piercing black eyes that locked onto her like a predator sizing up its prey.
- Amelia shivered slightly. "Mister, you promised me 100 million dollars."
- Before she could finish, the man suddenly grabbed her hand.
- "What!?"
- Before Amelia could fully comprehend what was happening, the man said, "Be good, help me, and I’ll marry you."
- Amelia spent the entire night drowning in regret.
- She regretted it!
- She thought she was helping someone in need, but she never expected to rescue a wolf in sheep’s clothing!
- The next morning, Amelia slowly sat up, clutching the blanket tightly around herself.
- The man was gone, and she was seething with anger, gritting her teeth.
- That beast! Worthless man!
- If she ever saw him again, he’d be in big trouble!
- There was a polite knock at the door.
- A moment later, the door opened. A man in a wheelchair came into view.
- "It’s you!" Amelia gasped, frozen in surprise.
- The man raised an eyebrow and motioned with his hand, and a large group of maids flooded into the room behind him.
- "Miss, please allow us to serve you."
- "Hey, what are you doing? Stop it right now!"
- Half an hour later, Amelia was completely transformed.
- Her hair was meticulously styled, gently draping over her shoulders.
- Her face was subtly enhanced with light makeup and a soft layer of lipstick, giving her a healthy, radiant appearance.
- She was dressed in the latest Silverwood fashion, looking absolutely exquisite.
- The transformation made her stunningly beautiful.
- Ethan Carter’s eyes flashed with admiration as he signaled for the maids to leave.
- "Let me introduce myself. I'm Ethan Carter. I sincerely apologize for what happened last night. I was drugged and ended up doing something terrible to you."
- Amelia swallowed nervously. "Um, about the 100 million dollars you mentioned..."
- "I can give you the money, but there's one condition."
- "What condition?"
- Ethan’s tone became serious. "I need a bride."
- He hadn’t expected that even after retreating to Oceancliff, his enemies would continue to pursue him with such underhanded tactics.
- He needed a wife, someone who couldn't be manipulated by his enemies and who had a clean background.
- The girl in front of him met all his criteria.
- Amelia thought she must have heard wrong—he wanted her to marry him?
- "Are you turning me down?" Ethan’s voice turned cold.
- He smiled bitterly. With my leg injured, who will want to marry me?
- "Go ahead. As compensation, I’ll still give you the money."
- "Mister, if I marry you, you’ll give me 100 million dollars? Can I still continue my studies?"
- "You can continue your studies. I won’t restrict your freedom."
- "Alright! Then let's get married!"
- Ethan was taken aback—he hadn’t expected her to agree so quickly!
- Amelia figured that instead of letting Isabella sell her off, she might as well choose her own path.
- At least Ethan is offering me 100 million dollars, and he is incredibly handsome!
- Ethan handed her a marriage agreement. "You’re not of legal age yet, so we’ll officially register the marriage in two years."
- Amelia carefully signed her name, letter by letter.
