Chapter 8 Jaybi's First Love
- TJ's POV
- "Can I ask, why did you become an introvert?"
- "Uhm, sorry," he apologized so awkwardly. "But can I not answer that?"
- Spell awkward, RIGHTNOW.
- I asked the wrong question.
- "Let's go home," he continued, disgusted.
- We parted ways, when we went home. And It's been more than 3 days since I last saw him for reasons I don't know. But now, I just saw his friend so I'm going to ask him now.
- "Tom, did you know where Zack is? I haven't seen him for the past few days." While looking around, hoping to see him.
- "He is in his apartment the whole time, you don't know?"
- I shook my head, "No."
- "So, you didn't even know he was sick?"
- "He's sick?" I questioned him back.
- "Just go to his apartment, Tj!"
- As soon as I entered the school, I went outside again. I went to his apartment to see him. He didn't even say he was already sick.
- I rushed in to see what was happening to him. I just gasped when I saw him.
- "Are you alright?"
- He nodded, "Yes."
- He's so pale, looking like a newborn baby.
- "No, you're not, why didn't you tell me? Look at yourself, oh!"
- "I don't want to bother you. You have classes to take," he replied.
- I ignored what he said and I approached him to touch his forehead, and I almost jumped when it felt so hot.
- "If I only knew that your resistance was weak, I shouldn't have asked to bathe you in the rain."
- He shook his head, "No, I'm okay."
- I sighed and asked again, "Have you taken any medicine?"
- "Last night."
- "Is there any medicine left?"
- He shook his head.
- "I'll take responsibility. Wait for me, I'll be back."
- I went out and bought medicines and food, of course, I don't know how to cook. I came back again after buying some stuff.
- "When was the last time you washed your hair?" I started.
- "Okay, then."
- We went to the bathroom but he was still wrapped in a blanket. I decided to wash his hair. While, he sat down on a chair and his head rested on the lavatory.
- "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it."
- "Huh?" He doesn't feel like pronouncing it properly, because of the big problem I caused here.
- "On Tuesday, I asked about those things," I explained.
- I'm just curious why he became an introvert.
- "It's alright, if you really want to know. I'll tell you."
- "No need, it's okay, it's your privacy." And smiled like nothing happened.
- I just rubbed his hair, to make it bubble, the feeling was young!
- "Oh, wow." I was surprised, he just grabbed the foam from his head and rubbed it on my face.
- I just sighed, letting him because he's sick and it's still my fault.
- After washing his hair, we went back to his room. I am holding a towel now and drying his hair with it, while he's just sitting on the bed leaning on me while I'm standing.
- "I'm really sorry, I didn't expect it to reach this far. Your immune system is a bit weak, isn't it?"
- "It's fine, okay? And stop apologizing," said him.
- "Okay," I replied. "I told you that I want to make you happy and a lunch date that is worth remembering but look at you, you're sick."
- He just laughed at me, "It's alright. I'm happy and I'll really remember that a lot because you're the one with me."
- "Stop making fun of me, you're not funny."
- He took my hand and slowly lowered it, he faced me without hesitation, "I meant it."
- I looked away, I didn't want to see his eyes.
- "Um, fine." I pick up my hands away from him, "Let's eat, instead."
- I just heated the porridge that I bought. After eating, I let him rest. I wiped his head together with his arms.
- Make a name for yourself, do something that they will remember. Done!
- I'm really sorry for everything, Zack.
- Jaybi's POV
- I'm being punched here again. They are beating me again, I don't know why they are doing this to me. Like what the, I don't even know them!
- "What the hell is going on?" I heard something, a familiar voice.
- "What are you doing here, Petot?" I asked, frowning. I looked around to see it, and I was right.
- "If you don't want to be like him, just leave," The guy threatened.
- We are in the back of the school building, and not so many people pass here.
- "Are you proud of yourself doing this horrible thing? You're ruining our school's image." another woman approached, a boyish-type, wearing a black hoodie. So, I can't see her face.
- I looked at those girls and shook my head, "Don't, please?"
- "No," the boyish girl insisted. She raised her fist. "Come on, fight me. You're brave, aren't you?"
- I was surprised, she reminds me of someone!
- "You're just a gi—" Before he could finish his sentence, she punched him in the face which caused him to be thrown on the ground
- Wow. Just a big wow! In just a minute the three other men here are on the floor, too. But now, they are trying to stand up.
- "I'll count, if I say 3, run!" As Petot approached me, whispered. She held my hand and began to count, "1. . . . 2, run!"
- I just ran even though my body ached, and of course, we ran with the boyish girl.
- She is so f•cking cool!
- We went straight to the clinic, and here's Petot doing some stuff on me. She is so careful about treating my wounds on my body. After I was treated here, we went out too.
- "Jaybi, why didn't you tell your friend? My brother! Look at you!”
- “I already said that, actually. They confronted them, they talked, but it only got worse so I didn't say that it was followed. But it's alright, as long as my face is okay, it's okay."
- Yes! They're smart, they don't touch my face so that no one will suspect.
- "But still. . ."
- I smiled at her, "I know you are worried but I'm okay."
- “Fine!" She glared at me. "But still tell my older brother, or else!"
- "Yes, by the way, Petot?" I called her. It's her nickname, her real name is Precious.
- "Yes?"
- "Who is she, your friend?" I pointed at the woman with her.
- She's a woman but she's boyish! It's not like I said it's ugly to look at, but I know Petot, she's a girly type but this one! She's so cool, making me remember someone!
- "You don't know Sam?"
- I widened my eyes.
- Sam? There is only one Sam that I know, Ms. Smith.
- The boyish girl stopped and went in front, "Sam, Samantha Melanie Smith. Your first love, Jaybi."
- Sh••t!
