Chapter 2 That's Who She Is?
- Sometimes people come into your life for a reason!
- It was Monday morning, and the apartment was silent as Alicia snuggled into Amia's body, keeping her warm.
- The alarm rang out, waking her up instantly; she yawns, went into the small kitchen, and cooked up some pancakes for Mia. Covering the plate, she walked over to the bathroom.
- They lived in a one-bedroom apartment; it wasn't a penthouse, but it was decent enough for them after Alicia's parents kicked her out.
- When her parents found out she was pregnant, they told her to pack and leave. The only way she could have stayed was if she had gotten an abortion. Her father was cruel enough to push her down a staircase when she refused.
- They hated Alicia because she ruined their perfect family. Her father's image was more important to him. Her family wasn't perfect, but her parents were delusional; Alicia was thankful that nothing happened to her daughter. So she moved to New York soon as she finished high school.
- Alicia walked out of the bathroom fully dressed. She walked over to the storage bags and placed an outfit out for Mia.
- "Baby, get up," Alicia shook Mia a little.
- "Ma," she whined, rolling over.
- Alicia went around and scooped her up, placing her in a chair. This was their everyday routine. She always had to feed Mia while she was asleep.
- "Open up, sweetie."
- "Okay baby, are you up? "Alicia wiped syrup off of her lips.
- "Yeah." Mia nods tiredly.
- "Okay, brush your teeth and hurry, we have to get you ready to meet uncle Eli downstairs."
- Mia got up and walked to the bathroom getting on her little stool.
- Alicia took the dishes to the kitchen and tidied them up. Her phone buzzed on the kitchen counter. She wipes her hands, looking at the unread messages.
- Don't forget cheered practice this morning, and your shift at the gym on Wednesday. I'll see you soon.- Sanna.
- Eli will pick her up at 6 and you can come to get her when you're done with school. - Ariel
- Good morning, don't forget our date at 1 pm. Enjoy your day. I'll pick you up later.- Emilie.
- Pick me up at the football arena behind NYU. enjoy your day as well, beautiful ;)
- After Alicia replied to everyone, she got Mia ready.
- They met Eli in the lobby, Alicia exchanged hugs, kisses, and goodbyes before she walked off to the train station.
- Arriving at the university, she talked to a few people on the way to the gym. Alicia smirked at the new people lined up at the door to tryouts.
- "Mich, let them in while I change."
- "Hey, Sanna banana, are you ready?" Alicia walked over to her after changing into her uniform.
- "Yes, I'm ready to make someone cry."
- "Cruel," Alicia chuckled, "can you take over for me at 1?"
- "Sure."
- The pair walked over to the bleachers, and Alicia scanned the crowd.
- "Listen up, I'm Alicia. Some of you may already know me, but I'm not here to be your friend. I take my job seriously, as you can see by the trophies, and I need you all to follow me to the football field so we can observe and judge you more on your flips and tumbles." Alicia shouted.
- They followed close behind her to the field. She placed them into groups to do five laps around the field; she directed the other groups to get on the stairs.
- She wrote notes, judging their stamina and how in shape they were, and who she can easily whip into shape.
- "Sanna, I need you to give them a small routine, please."
- She blows her whistle, watching them closely. As Sanna called them over, her phone vibrates in her waistband.
- Stranger Danger calling...
- Looking down at the phone, Alicia laughed at the name, making a mental note to change it.
- "Hi beautiful, what are you doing?' Emilie's smooth voice rang through the phone.
- "Hello, I'm running practice, so I can't talk." Alicia looked up, then back at the ground.
- "Oh, I was making sure you don't bail on our date." Emilie chuckled.
- "I'm not. Can I show up in my workout gear?"
- "Oh, you can. It's no problem! Fancy is boring, plus the date just keeps getting better. I get to see you in a sports bra."
- "Funny, bye Emilie, you're taking up my time." Alicia rolled her eyes.
- "Bye beautiful."
- Alicia hangs up, laughing a little. She shakes her head.
- "Who got you all giggling and smiley?" Sanna smirked, eyeing her friend.
- "Just this girl I met at the bar, the night of my birthday. We're going out for lunch."
- "Wow, she must be beautiful if she got you all giggly." Sanna laughed at her friend's red cheeks.
- "You have no idea."
- It was finally 1 pm. Alicia packed up her bag, walking over to the black-tinted Range Rover parked by the gate. Emilie stepped out, dressed in a grey Gucci pantsuit with black heels.
- "Now I feel like I should have gotten dressed up." Alicia pouted, looking down at her crop top and sweat.
- "I was at work, just came out of a meeting. I'm sorry, but we're not going anywhere fancy." Emilie said.
- Alicia walked over to the car, getting in as her phone vibrates. She pulled it out, chuckling at the text.
- From Sanna Banana- Um, if that's the person you ditch me for, I am not mad. They look hot from here.
- Alicia places the phone in the pocket of her sweat, trying not to laugh.
- "I hope you like Chinese food."
- "I do," Alicia smiled softly at her.
- "Good," Emilie smiled, nodding.
- After twenty minutes of comfortable silence, the driver pulled up to the restaurant.
- Emilie got out and opened her door as they walked into the restaurant.
- "So Emilie tells me more about yourself." Alicia scanned over the menu.
- "Well, I'm an only child and I lived in Greenville, Pennsylvania, in a small home with great parents. My dad was in the military and my mother worked at the local police station."
- "What? you lived in Greenville, so did I," it shocked Alicia.
- "What's your last name?" Emilie asked.
- "Delaurentis."
- "Oh my god, I'm on a date with Greenville's famous Queen Bee," Emilie said with a smirk.
- "In the flesh." Alicia laughed.
- "I remember hearing about you when I was a senior. I think you were a freshman."
- "Wait, How Old Are You?" Alicia asked.
- "Twenty-six."
- "Oh, so do you have any kids?"
- "Nope, what about you?"
- "Yes, actually Mia is mine," she said proudly.
- "Wow, I would have never thought you look so young," Emilie said.
- "Hi, welcome to LoMien. I'm Chin. May I take your order?"
- "Hi, can I have beef noodles and a side of egg rolls please, and a diet coke?" Alicia said.
- "I will have a side of rice mixed with chicken, extra soya sauce, and a glass of water." Emilie handed him the menus.
- "What did you say before?"
- "I was saying how you're so young and have a daughter."
- "Yeah, I know, that's why I work so hard to keep a roof over our heads," she said. "I never asked what you did?"
- "Oh, trading and selling, I guess you can say."
- They talked back and forth, getting to know each other while eating. Emilie offered to get Amia some food. They walked out to the car, still chatting.
- "Thank you. I had fun," Alicia smirked.
- The car pulled up outside Ariel's building.
- "I'm glad you did because I want to continue seeing you."
- "We'll see, "Alicia stepped out of the car, swaying her hips, knowing Emilie was staring.
- She got on the elevator and walked up to Ariel's door, and knocked.
- "Thanks, Ar, for taking care of her. I appreciate it." Alicia hugged her.
- "You don't have to thank me. I love watching her." Ariel gave her Mia things.
- "Mommy," Mia shouted, running over to her.
- "Princess." Alicia kissed her head, "Thanks again, Ari."
- Mia spoke about her day on the subway and when they arrived home. Alicia sat, giving her a bubble bath.
- "So mummy, what did you do today?" Mia asked.
- "Cheer Practice and I went out to lunch with a friend."
- "Mummy, when can I get to come to cheer practice? do you have a boyfriend?" Mia asked.
- "How about Saturday you can come, and then we can go out?" Alicia ignored her question.
- "It's a date mommy and you never answer my question. You shouldn't ignore me," Mia said.
- "No, mommy doesn't have a boyfriend, baby," Alicia said.
- Getting ready for bed, Alicia placed her laptop on the bedside table, putting on her favorite show. The phone rang in her back pocket. She stepped into the kitchen to answer.
- "Yes, Sanna."
- "Girl, you never called and gave me the details about your date."
- "I didn't know I had to."
- "I'm coming over now. now. I wanna know everything and I'm sleeping over as well. Bye." Sanna rushed off the phone, hanging up.
- Alicia tried calling back to tell her not to, but Sanna ignored her calls. Walking back into the room, she smiles at seeing Mia asleep. Putting the covers over her, she turned the laptop off.
- "Goodnight, Princess," Alicia whispered, walking out of the room.
- Hearing a knock on the door, she chuckled, knowing it was Sanna.
- "Alright bitch, I'm here and I have wine and takeout. Tell me now." Sanna pushed past her and entered the kitchen.
- Alicia closed the door and walked into the kitchen, getting her phone.
- "Goodnight to you, Sanna," Alicia said sarcastically.
- She looked down at her phone and saw a text from Emilie.
- From Stranger Danger- I had a good time with you.
- I had a good time with you too.-A
- "So how was the date, and why haven't you told me who it was with?" Sanna asked.
- "Do you remember anyone named Emilie from high school, maybe a couple of grades before us?" Alicia asked.
- "Yeah, yeah, she was on the swim team and the football team. She dated Buck teeth betty." Sanna said.
- "Well, it was her," Alicia said, sipping on her wine.
- "Get out of here. She was hot when we went to school. Isn't she like thirty by now?"
- "Twenty-six. I don't know how it's going to work. She's six years older than me. I don't wanna appear a baby to her."
- "She isn't that old anyway, so it's not that bad. Stop overthinking it," Sanna smacked her thigh.
- Alicia's phone buzzed before she could say anything.
- Since you had a great time, how about you join me at a fashion show event? Saturday.
- I don't think I can; I have a daughter, remember?
- "You're beautiful ass deserves the best. So what if you're with someone older than your age? What if it makes you happy, do you?"
- "Yeah, I guess you're right. I will not rush into anything," Alicia nodded.
- "So, how does she look now? Do you have any pictures ?"
- "She's hot, beautiful even. I don't have any pictures, though." Alicia looked down at her phone.
- If I get a babysitter, will you come? It's just for a couple of hours? Please, beautiful?-E
- Well yes, I will, once it is someone good and trustworthy.-A
- "Is that her you're speaking to?" Sanna asked.
- "Yeah." Alicia nodded.
- Sanna snatches the phone quickly, pressing the FaceTime button.
- "Sanna what are you doing" Alicia shouted, trying to get her phone.
- "I wanna see how she looks now." Sanna shrugged.
- Emilie answered on the third ring.
- "Um, who are you?" Emilie frowned, tilting her head.
- "You're fine as hell," Sanna blurted out.
- Alicia peep into the phone getting a glimpse of Emilie standing in sweatpants and a sports bra, her muscular build on display, toned stomach, and abs. Alicia blushed, catching the peak of the harness waistband on display.
- "Thank you, I guess. Who are you?" Emilie said, laughing.
- "I'm Alicia's girlfriend and the one you're sharing her with."
- "She's not, she's crazy," Alicia said in the background.
- "Oh, now that you got hot babe over here, you're abandoning our relationship. Alicia baby, we were together for like three years and now you're doing this."
- "You're such a drama queen," Alicia said, glaring at her, and grabbing the phone.
- smacking noises heard and hushed tones before Alicia popped into the call.
- "Ow, stupid," Sanna shouted.
- "Hi." Alicia smiled at Emilie.
- "That's the beautiful face I was looking for. Why is your friend being crazy?"
- "It's in her nature. Sorry if she bothered you," Alicia pouted.
- "I was just getting ready for bed. My best friend can babysit Mia for us on Saturday at my place."
- "Oh okay, thank you. Do I need to get a dress or anything?"
- "It's a black-and-white event," Emilie looked down at the phone.
- "Okay, well, you go get some rest, bye Emilie." Alicia waved.
- "Bye Beautiful," Emilie hung up.
- "Sanna, you are so annoying. Oh god, she must think I am a weirdo."
- "Relax, she didn't. So let's get you a dress online for your date," Sanna clapped, getting her credit card.
- "I don't have money for a new dress." Alicia grabs her glass, following behind her best friend.
- "It's on me. Just make it up to me by getting laid."
- The friends sat on the floor searching through the internet to get the perfect dress.
- Emilie chuckled, placing the phone to her ears and calling her best friend.
- "Hi, my favorite person in the whole wide world."
- "What do you want, Emilie?" She heard the attitude in her voice.
- "I wanna know if you're up to babysit for me. Just a couple of hours Saturday night."
- "Emilie, you don't have kids unless you have a pet turtle."
- "Do you remember Alicia from high school, queen bee?"
- "Yeah, the devil. I dated her brother for a while until he found out."
- "Well, it's her kid, and I have a date."
- "Be careful. She may use you. I heard about her reputation."
- "I don't think she knows who I am." Emilie frowned, looking down at her nails.
- "Who doesn't know billionaire diamonds owner Emilie Ferla?"
- "I guess she doesn't, also she never asked, and she thinks I do trading, which is not a total lie." Emilie smiled.
- "Wow, but I'll do it. Just be careful, she's like nineteen."
- "She's twenty, and beautiful as well. I don't care about the age, bye Le."
- "Just be careful, bye' em, and I expect to get paid." Le hung up.
- Emilie walked into her bedroom, laying back on her bed thinking about Alicia. She didn't mind Alicia's reputation, she could have grown from it.
- Emilie remembers how cruel she was, Alicia even bullied her ex-girlfriend who was a junior, and spread a rumor about someone having both parties. Emilie was keeping hope that she changed.
- "She Was A Queen Bitch." Emilie mumbled out loud.
