Chapter 37

• It was noon the next day when I woke up again. After I changed my clothes and went downstairs, I saw Lydia and Pearl sitting on the sofa in the living room chatting. They both looked serious. Lydia, in particular, looked at Pearl with disapproval, as if they were arguing about something.
• I was about to go forward when Pearl looked up and saw me, and they immediately stopped talking.
• Pearl waved to me. I walked over to them, sat down beside them, and asked, "What's wrong with you two? Did you have a fight?"
