Chapter 1 Missing Triplets

  • SELENA'S POV
  • The noise from my ringing phone woke me up. I ignored the call at first, but the caller didn't stop. I couldn't ignore it any longer, because it could wake my children up and I needed rest.
  • As I looked at my screen, it was Pete. Why is he calling me at this time of the day? What could have happened to him?
  • I hurriedly sat up and picked the call. A faint voice that I barely heard what the person was saying.
  • "Pete, is that you? Please talk to me." I urged him to speak, but he couldn't say something that I could hear.
  • I stood up, my heart beating fast that I couldn't stand in one place. The call ended, and I started calling him back, but he didn't pick up. Could it be that he was attacked by rogues?
  • I have told him time without number to stop this early morning movement, tour pack is not safe at the moment. He will always say he is a…
  • "Selena, this is not the time to place blame. You have to do something." I said in my mind and started looking for my jacket.
  • My phone started ringing again, and I didn't waste a second to pick the call.
  • "I need your help, Selena, please! I am dying here." Pete struggled to say something, but this time his voice was louder than it was.
  • "Where are you?" I asked as my voice was already shivering, my hands shaking that I couldn't hold on to something. I looked at my babies, they were still asleep, and I ran out without picking up my jacket.
  • *******
  • As I stepped out, darkness enveloped everywhere, I struggled to see through as I forgot to take my touch light, going back might be putting Pete's life at risk, so I managed to locate him.
  • My eyes couldn't believe what I was seeing. Pete was drawn in blood, he couldn't move an inch, and no one was around to help lift him up. I tore some part of my nightgown and tied his wound, before he managed to lean on me and stand.
  • I was already half naked and wanted to get home and cover up because it was raining ice and my body was wet. Though, I wasn't feeling cold.
  • We struggled to get home. My door was open, I couldn't think straight at that point.
  • "Did I leave my door open?" I was confused, but I knew I locked the door.
  • Pete couldn't say anything because of his condition, I tried to waive any bad thing on my mind away.
  • Getting to the door, I noticed it was broken, I could feel the pieces of a shattered bulb on the floor as the lights were off. I managed to drop Pete on the floor and ran into my room to check on my children, to my greatest surprise, they were not there.
  • I wanted to shout, but I couldn't. I was left in a shocking state, trying to make myself believe it wasn't reality, but it was more than real.
  • I ran outside the room with tears already and started screaming.
  • "What… is… the… issue?" Pete managed to ask, he was still bleeding profusely. I didn't know what to do at that moment.
  • I had to call the pack doctor we had, to which she responded to the call immediately. I was running from one edge to another because there was nothing left for me to do. Where can I even find my triplets? I don't know, and they are my life. I rather die than be alive and not have them around me.
  • I couldn't take it any more as I started rolling myself on the floor, shouting while some people ran out to console me, but how is it possible to control me at this state. I am more than broken!
  • "Selena!" Something inside me called my name and I responded loudly, not minding people that were looking at me.
  • "Maybe she is going made." Some of them said, but I didn't give a damn because I wanted to listen to my heart.
  • I didn't bother about Pete any more, as the doctor was taking care of him. The only option I had at that moment was to run to the father of my kids for help, I can't lose them to any unknown person. It was all a planned work to get me with Pete, if only he listens to me and stay at his house in the early hours of the morning.
  • "You can't leave him lonely in this critical condition, do you think he would survive this in your absence?" The doctor questioned me. I couldn't say anything, helpless and hopeless, as the doctor left.
  • "I can't trade Pete for my kids, that would be the biggest mistake of my life." I muttered to myself and covered his body, then left the house to the pack house.
  • The day was already taking its shape as I arrived. At first, the guards refused me access into the house, luckily, Tyler, the Alpha of the Red moon pack, the father of my babies was on his way out.
  • "Let her in." He commanded with his active voice, sounding like a mighty warrior. I ran to him and fell on the ground, crying. His enigmatic figure right in front of me was something that always makes me have goosebumps anytime I am around him.
  • Here comes the Luna of the Red moon pack, my successor.
  • "What is she doing here?" She arrogantly questioned, but no one replied to her. She moved closer to know what was happening.
  • "Selena, as you can see, I have something to attend to. Speak!" Tyler commanded, acting like I am a stranger that doesn't even deserve his attention, forgetting the moments we shared, the love we shared and the peace I gave him.
  • Mere looking at him and his current Luna, one could tell that they are not happy together, but that wasn't why I came, because I already have someone else. Someone who truly accepted that I am his mate, even though I haven't told him I love him or want him.
  • Pleading with my tearful eyes, I managed to control myself and say something. "Our baby is missing."
  • "What's the meaning of that? What should I call this now? Does it mean you are going insane? You better say something before I forget whatever you might think that happened between us and serve your head to the rogues.
  • I slowly raised my head to look at him, he bent down and pulled me up, making me stand on my feet.
  • I looked into his eyes as our eyes locked to each other and said it again; "our triplets are missing."
