Chapter 43 Freezing Cold

• Chase didn't reprimand Jessie. He crouched down to lift Charles, but the little one resisted, clutching onto Jessie's collar with urgency, mumbling incomprehensibly in his haste.
• A cold gaze from Chase silenced Charles immediately; the toddler, even though young, could sense the shift in the atmosphere. With a pouty face, he looked at Jessie as if asking to be held.
• Linda took Charles from Chase's arms, but the child continued to cry, refusing to be with her.
