Chapter 7 The Necklace's Whereabouts

  • "Uncle Isaac?" Blair glanced at Isaac and realized that Zachary had already left.
  • "Blair, come here. I have something to tell you."
  • She looked outside the door. Now that Tammy is free, I can deal with other matters later. The most important thing now is to retrieve my mother's inheritance from Isaac.
  • "Where did Zachary go?"
  • "He received a call. He said something important came up."
  • She didn't pay much attention. Instead, she asked, "Uncle, now that I'm married into the Lennons. Can you return me my mother's inheritance now?"
  • "Blair, I know you want your mother's inheritance to find your biological father. In fact, I've been searching for your father all these years too."
  • She was skeptical. "You've been looking too?"
  • "We wanted to know who the father was when your mother became pregnant suddenly back then. Your mother kept it a secret too well. After all these years, we have only managed to uncover some clues. Look, here's some information we received from abroad a few days ago."
  • Looking at the photos and documents he handed over, she began to believe him.
  • He continued, "The Piersons have limited resources. To keep searching for your father, the Piersons must stay afloat."
  • "What do you mean, Uncle Isaac?"
  • Isaac had always been indifferent to her. Hence, it was impossible for him to suddenly say so much without having an ulterior motive.
  • "This is a supplier contract. Try to get Zachary to sign it."
  • "What?"
  • It turned out Isaac was targeting Zachary. No wonder he insisted on Blair bringing him home.
  • "The Lennon Group has so many suppliers every year. One more from the Piersons won't make a difference. However, having a client like the Lennon Group can save the entire company for the Piersons."
  • Isaac whispered, "Blair, I promise to help you find your father as long as the Piersons stand."
  • She didn't trust Isaac's sudden kindness but had no better option. She was too weak on her own and her mother's inheritance was still in his hands. She had no choice but to comply.
  • She clenched the contract in her hand. "I'll try, but I can't guarantee that Zachary will sign it."
  • That man wouldn’t easily listen to her, but she had to try.
  • Meanwhile, Zachary returned to his company.
  • Jacob walked into the office, trembling. "Mr. Lennon, the person is here."
  • "Let her in."
  • Jacob had mentioned over the phone that they had found the necklace. Zachary’s first thought was that they had found the woman from the plane.
  • He felt a strong desire to make amends for the woman whose first time he had forcefully taken.
  • No matter who she was, she would only ever be his wife.
  • The office door opened, and a man was pushed in.
  • Zachary's gaze turned cold, a dangerous aura sweeping over Jacob.
  • Jacob's legs went weak with fear. "Mr. Lennon, he insists that the necklace is his."
  • "Give me the necklace." Zachary's four words made the man fall to his knees in fear. "Mr. Lennon, the necklace really is mine. Just tell me how much you want for it."
  • The man wasn’t entirely wrong. He had acquired the necklace through debt collection, so technically it was his.
  • Zachary took the necklace. He knew it was his with one look.
  • He was filled with rage thinking about the necklace he left for his woman inexplicably appearing on this man. "Take him down. Beat him until he tells the truth."
  • Knowing he had messed up again, Jacob quickly dragged the man out, hoping to avoid punishment.
  • Zachary caressed the necklace in his hand. Where are you, my love?
  • His eyes grew deep and dark, reminiscing the traumatic and chilling experience, feeling a sense of yearning in his heart.
