Chapter 6 How Dare You Talk Back

  • Susan beamed with joy. "Look at Blair. She is so thoughtful. Unlike you, you little brat."
  • Sensible? She's just not giving up yet, hoping to convince me to accompany her back to the Piersons. She's not only greedy but also skilled in acting. This woman has some talents! Zachary thought.
  • Blair served him food, but his mood did not improve. Instead, he grew colder and colder. This is bad. He probably won't agree to accompany me back to the Piersons now.
  • Feeling unusually down, Blair didn't know what to do.
  • "Zachary, you should accompany Blair back to the Piersons after the meal." Susan suddenly said.
  • Blair was stunned. She looked up in surprise, and gratitude filled her heart.
  • Her reaction didn’t escape Zachary's notice. With Grandma's direct order, I don't think you will refuse.
  • His anger flared even more.
  • However, Zachary never lost his temper in front of Susan. Despite his dark expression, he nodded in agreement.
  • Blair glanced at him. The joy on her face was now tinged with worry.
  • There was always a calm before the storm.
  • After the meal, the two of them left, one following the other.
  • As soon as they entered the car, Zachary leaned over and pinned Blair against the car door. "Have you considered the consequences of threatening me?"
  • She tried to push him away. "I didn't threaten you. I didn't know Grandma would ask you to accompany me."
  • The man stood firm as a mountain, unmoved by her feeble attempts; her strength was no match for him.
  • "How dare you talk back?" He grabbed her neck, his other hand unconsciously brushing over her lips.
  • Blair opened her mouth, and her lips grazed his fingers, sending a tingling sensation through him.
  • Zachary's eyes darkened. Unable to resist, he pressed his fingers harder against her lips, making them even more flushed.
  • His grip on her neck tightened slightly, and he leaned in instinctively.
  • "What… What are you doing?" Blair couldn't help but protest softly, the pain in her throat making her voice hoarse.
  • His eyes turned icy, his expression grim. "Blair, this is your one and only warning. I will make you wish you were dead if you dare to take advantage of Grandma again."
  • He loosened his grip but didn’t let go completely.
  • She slapped his hand away. "Whether you believe it or not, I didn't take advantage of Grandma."
  • This man was crazy, violent, unreasonable, and handsy. Marrying him was like being cursed.
  • Upon arriving at Pierson's house, Isaac personally opened the door. His face broke into a wide smile after seeing Zachary behind Blair.
  • Blair couldn't be bothered with him. "I'm going to check on Tammy."
  • Isaac didn't care where she went; he only wanted to entertain Zachary properly.
  • Zachary watched as she ran upstairs, his gaze darkening slightly. I really want to find out what's so special about the Piersons that Grandma insisted on me marrying Blair.
  • Blair pushed open Tammy's room door. "Tammy?"
  • "Blair, is my brother-in-law here?"
  • "He's downstairs. Are you okay? Did Uncle hit you? What did he say to you?"
  • Hearing that Zachary was at the house, Tammy jumped up with a smile. "That's great! I need to hurry back to school while he is still here, or I'll be late."
  • Blair was puzzled. "Tammy, don't leave yet. Tell me what's going on first."
  • "I'll explain everything to you after the competition. I need to go now. Take care." Tammy grabbed her bag and dashed downstairs.
  • Blair ran down after her, but she was already gone.
  • "Stop." Isaac's low growl halted her.
