Chapter 11 Who Is He?
- Aurora's POV
- I was reading a book after having dinner. Occasionally checking that officers are still out. It was almost past ten and I was wondering if he was going to come that night.
- What if he came but saw police at the door and went back?
- A part of me wanted him to come and get caught by police and a part of me wanted him to disappear and never come back like he never existed.
- I looked at the book again and realised that I was just looking at the page and was thinking about something else. I wasn't reading at all. My mind wasn't working properly, I was scared.
- My fear came to reality when I heard noise outside.
- He was out there! I clutched the book tightly as my stomach churned.
- I thought I won't be scared as the police were out but I was wrong, he scared me even with that hope.
- I placed the book down and got out of the bed, my hands trembled as I twisted the lock and opened my bedroom door.
- My soul almost knocked out of my body when I saw Rafael in the living room. He had his hands in his pockets and was standing like a boss.
- I gasped when I saw those men grunting in pain on the ground.
- He was looking at men and slowly looked up, straight into my soul. He didn't look like he had a fight with two police officers.
- He was standing untouched.
- My head started spinning for a second when he raised his eyebrows at me.
- "You promised you will be a good girl!"
- He sighed.
- "Why do you want to make it difficult for you, Angel?"
- He shook his head disappointed.
- I looked at him with teary eyes.
- "Please!"
- "Not a word!"
- He warned and I flinched.
- "You broke my trust..."
- The fuck I cared about his trust but I had nothing to say, I couldn't trust him with my safety as he had tackled two police officers.
- I looked at the door while thinking about running away and he tsked at me.
- "Try it!"
- He challenged.
- "Show me how stupid you can be"
- He stepped aside from my way.
- I was really stupid to think that I could escape, I was naive, I underestimated him and paid for it because I did what he challenged me for.
- I started running towards the door and he jerked me back while grabbing on my hair.
- It was sudden and painful, my back landed directly on his front.
- I sobbed in pain when he grabbed my jaw with the other hand.
- "I wanted to go easy on you but you have different plans it seems..."
- He released the grip on my hair and made me look at those men.
- "You really think these low life people can stop me from getting what belongs to me?"
- He gritted.
- "There is no one who can protect you from me, not even me!"
- I sobbed as his grip got painful.
- "Please, it's hurting"
- "You made a mistake now you will solve it."
- I couldn't understand when he said that but my eyes widened when he pulled out something from his waistband and I realised that it's a gun.
- I froze. I had no idea why he had a gun and why he pulled it out now.
- The first thought was, he was going to shoot me but then he unlocked the gun and forced me to hold it.
- My hands trembled with the weight of the metal.
- "Have you ever killed a human, Angel?"
- He smirked and I shook my head furiously when I realised what he was going to do to me.
- "No!"
- I hadn't even hurt an ant.
- "Today we will teach you a lesson, that you can't get away with the mistakes..."
- He patted my head and grabbed my hands which were holding a gun.
- "No!"
- I tried to move but his hold was tight on me, his chin rested on my shoulder as he tightened his grip.
- "Don't move!"
- He ordered making me freeze.
- "You could have hired better men..."
- There was a disappointment in his voice.
- "These high on sugar men can't even protect you from the street dog. Let alone protecting you from the Rafael Delgado!"
- He finally told me his surname. It felt familiar, I have heard that name before but couldn't recollect where.
- Who the fuck was Rafael Delgado and why was he so confident about himself, I wanted to scream that but I was in terror.
- I sobbed harder when he forced my finger on the trigger.
- "No, No, No!"
- I screamed and closed my eyes when he tightened his hold and pulled the trigger.
- He moved my hand and pulled the trigger again. Two gunshots rang in my ears and head leaving me in complete shock.
- I felt him taking away the gun from my hands and lifting his chin up from my shoulder.
- "Welcome to my darkness, Angel"
- He chuckled while kissing my shoulder.
- "We should celebrate your first murders, your shot was perfect by the way... I am proud of you."
- I flinched when he ran his hand through my hair.
- "Why don't you open your pretty eyes and have a look."
- I refused to open my eyes and see the sin he forced me to do. I couldn't understand what to do. I killed police officers!
- I could have been punished for that, they could have arrested me. Rafael trapped me.
- I was going crazy while thinking about all the circumstances when I almost lost my balance and he pushed me on the chair.
- My eyes snapped open and found him staring down at me in adoration.
- "You look beautiful when you cry..."
- He smirked.
- I wasn't surprised by his words, from the past few hours I had come to realize that this man is twisted.
- What shook my world was, two dead bodies lying in my house.
- I cried looking at them and heard him sigh.
- "Are you crying because they are dead or because you killed them?"
- He asked.
- What was the fucking question.
- "Because you forced me to kill them"
- I sobbed loudly.
- "I didn't kill anyone... I didn't!"
- I yelled.
- He sighed and looked at the dead bodies.
- "Okay, you didn't... Now try telling that to the police..."
- He smirked at me and my eyes widened in horror.
- No, he can't do that. That gun had my fingerprints.
- "Let's inform the police that their honourable men were killed by a girl they wanted to protect..."
- He mocked.
- "I didn't"
- I shook my head.
- "You know I didn't... Why are you doing this?..."
- I cried my heart out.
- "Please don't call the police, please don't inform them..."
- "But you went to them first..."
- He leaned down and caressed my cheek.
- "You involved them in this... It's your fault and you should pay for it."
- "Rafael, please don't do this"
- I pleaded. My helpless eyes looked into his cold one.
- "You won't dare to mess with me after tonight."
- He smirked and pulled out the phone from my pocket.
- "Call them!"
- He ordered.
- I shook my head furiously.
- "Please, I beg you!"
- "Let's practice shooting more"
- He grabbed my arm and I cowered back with a scream.
- "No!"
- He was going to made me shoot more bullets in bodies, that was fucked up.
- "I won't ask again"
- His voice turned hard.
- I blinked my teary eyes and grabbed the phone with my trembling hands, it felt like they would get paralysed anytime.
- I dialled the number and they answered the call. Rafael was looking at me with the look which said, I have you in my clutches now.
- "Hello, I am Aurora"
- I couldn't control my crying.
- "Aurora, is everything okay... Is he there?..."
- I was Ken on the call. I had no idea how he would react after knowing that his men are dead.
- "Yes!"
- I nodded not realising that he couldn't see me.
- "Can you come here with more men"
- I replied, what if he comes alone and Rafael kills him too.
- I looked at Rafael after disconnecting the call.
- He chuckled at me.
- "You are smart!"
- I had no idea that he meant it or mocked me but his expressions told me that he read what I was trying to do.
- And that made him more dangerous. He sat beside me on the chair, took off his coat and rolled up his sleeves just like he did the night before.
- "Let's wait until they come!"
- He said casually like we are sitting at a cafe and waiting for friends.
- I thought he was going to leave after making me call them and make them arrest me for murder but he sat beside me waiting for them.
- I had no idea what was going on in his mind but it wasn't good. His smirk warned me by sending chills to my terrified soul.
- I wasn't able to understand who Rafael Delgado was?
