Chapter 7

  • People couldn’t help but murmur and discuss among themselves.
  • “I heard everyone coming to the Caesar today is someone influential, from prominent medical families.”
  • “Then what about this child…”
  • Amelia wasn’t surprised by the conversation. After all, the boy was dressed well, and even his wristwatch was worth a lot.
  • “Next time, remember to bring a bodyguard.” Amelia advised, packing up her medical kit.
  • The boy, seeing she was about to leave, suddenly hugged her leg.
  • Amelia couldn’t ride her bike anymore so she looked down at him.
  • The boy didn’t say a word, just tugged at her sleeve.
  • Every time Amelia took a step, he followed.
  • This couldn’t continue like this.
  • Amelia stopped walking. “I’ll take you home.”
  • “Okay!” The boy nodded eagerly, his eyes shining. “I’ll make sure my family thanks you properly.”
  • Amelia adjusted his sleeve. “There’s no need for thanks. I don’t accept payment from children.”
  • “Then…” The boy’s eyes rolled as he thought. “Big sis, do you have a boyfriend?”
  • Amelia straightened up. “No.”
  • “Then I’ll have my third brother marry you as a thank-you!” The boy said, smiling brightly. His little voice continued, counting on his fingers. “My third brother may not talk much, but he’s handsome, and he makes a lot of money. He can make you look good out there. A lot of girls want to marry him!”
  • Amelia couldn’t help but laugh. “I’m not planning to get married for now.”
  • “Oh…” The boy’s face immediately drooped in disappointment. His ears flopped down, and he walked along with a sad, dejected look.
  • When they arrived at the hotel entrance, he suddenly perked up again, lifting his little face. “Sis, how about you meet with my third brother first? After meeting him, you can decide!”
  • With his brother’s looks, he was sure she would be moved! He was a master at using his face to charm people!
  • Amelia smiled gently. “You’re really pushing your brother. Does he know?”
  • “He’s always sick.” The boy said seriously, his little face earnest. “My family wants him to find a wife quickly. You’re a great doctor and pretty too, I’m sure you have a lot of people who want to be your boyfriend. So of course, I have to help my brother get ahead of the competition.”
  • Amelia looked at his dry, pale lips and bought a bottle of mineral water and a pack of crackers for him. “Don’t talk too much, you’re still recovering.”
  • The boy obediently took whatever she gave him. He couldn’t open the bottle of water by himself, so he raised it up weakly, his voice soft. “Can you open it for me?”
  • At that moment, Jerry arrived to pick him up. As soon as he got out of the car, he saw this scene.
  • That’s ...? The fake young lady who was kicked out of the Milton family? Why is young master Jenkins with her?
  • And he’s even asking her to open a bottle of water for him? Is this… a change of character?
  • Jerry’s eyes flickered with a hint of surprise but he quickly composed himself.
  • He recognized Amelia, but she didn’t recognize him.
  • Jerry didn’t reveal his identity. He hurried over and said, “Master Jenkins! We’ve finally found you! Thank goodness you’re okay.”
  • “It was she who saved me.” The boy grabbed Amelia’s hand, his face showing a rebellious streak, as though this was his true self.
  • Jerry gave a polite bow, his tone courteous but distant. “Thank you, Miss Cromwell.”
  • Amelia glanced at him with a calm expression. “He’s already thanked me.”
  • Jerry was momentarily taken aback by her attitude but quickly addressed the boy. “Young Master, the boss has used his connections to find you. He’s waiting in the car and hasn’t even taken his medicine this afternoon.”
  • At the mention of his third brother, the boy’s eyes widened in surprise, as if he hadn’t expected his brother to come out personally.
  • Over by the Maybach, the window rolled down slightly, and a figure could be seen inside. The man sitting there was tall and elegant, his posture graceful, with a fist pressed to his lips as though lightly coughing. Every movement exuded the poise of a noble family, his demeanor full of pride and refinement…
