Chapter 5 Removing the Bullet with Two Fingers
- Inside the Nikolaou residence, Cyril held his phone while listening to the report from the person on the other end of the line.
- "Mr. Nikolaou, that loser Cyrus has already left Grace's neighborhood. Judging by his appearance, he will probably end up wandering the streets tonight!" a hoarse voice said on the phone.
- Cyril listened to the report and smirked triumphantly. "This fool dares to go against me, huh? In the past, I cut him some slack because of his weakness and incompetence. I didn't expect that he would become so audacious after getting out of prison! Tell those hotels and agents that anyone who dares to rent a house to him will be considered an enemy of the Nikolaou family!"
- He hung up the phone, lay back on the couch, and chuckled contentedly.
- Now that Cyrus had dug his own grave, all of Jacob's assets will be Cyril's in the future!
- In a few days, he would also snatch Grace away. Hehe... Perfect victory!
- ...
- Cyrus walked out of Springe Avenue. After turning left for a few dozen meters, he noticed a black Honda following him from a distance.
- "Hehe..."
- He couldn't help but chuckle. Why would someone with such terrible tracking skills dare to follow me?
- Cyrus turned around and quickly approached the Honda before opening the car door.
- The driver looked at Cyrus in horror and asked hoarsely, "Sir, w-what are you doing?"
- Slap! Cyrus slapped the driver four times in a row, causing his eyes to swell. "Go back and tell Cyril that I will settle all accounts with him. Bit by bit!"
- He kicked the driver back into the car and left gracefully.
- Picking up his phone, Cyrus dialed Alex's number.
- Alex was the vice-captain of the Dragonia Special Forces. She had zero emotional intelligence, never smiled, and spoke like a robot. Even her speech was in standard robotic language, devoid of any emotion.
- "Alex, how much money do we have left now?" he asked.
- Alex replied on the other end of the phone, "We have a total of seven hundred and thirty-two and six cents."
- "What about our severance pay? Jamison promised before that the Dragonia Special Forces made significant contributions, so each of us should receive five billion in severance pay," he inquired further.
- She reported without any emotion, "Captain, Mr. Bowman said that he intercepted the thirty billion and used it as a dowry for his granddaughter. So, we have no money left. He also said that if you want money, you must marry his granddaughter."
- Cyrus was speechless. Jamison Bowman is really something!
- Jamison couldn't marry off his granddaughter, so he resorted to this method to force Cyrus to marry her!
- Annoyed, Cyrus asked, "Where are you five now? Do you have a place to stay?"
- Alex replied, "We are in an internet cafe. Lincoln, Jake, and the other two are playing a shooting game, something called 'PUBG.'"
- Cyrus thought for a moment and instructed, "Alex, gather all the information about Bosco with Jake. Tomorrow, we start to establish ourselves in Rodon by targeting him."
- "Yes, Captain."
- Cyrus sighed after putting down his phone. The Dragonia Special Forces, which used to make top leaders from all over the world tremble with fear, now found themselves in a sorry state. They were stuck in an internet cafe!
- It was really...
- Bang!
- There was a gunshot in the distance!
- In the next moment, he jumped directly onto the treetop over three meters high with a swoosh and hid himself.
- He was like a white wolf in the snow, motionless and carefully searching for the source of danger.
- A while later, Cyrus suddenly laughed at himself.
- He almost forgot this was Thaize. A city!
- He was no longer on a battlefield filled with smoke, blood, and danger.
- The gunshot just now was aimed at someone else, not him.
- Cyrus leaped down from the tree, shook his head slightly, and intended to find a place to stay.
- Shortly after, an ambulance arrived from behind and entered the nearby park.
- He hesitated momentarily and followed the ambulance to its destination.
- On the grass, an elderly man in martial arts attire lay on the ground. He was shot in the chest, and blood was flowing from the wound.
- The ambulance's back door swung open, and a surgeon in his fifties jumped out of the vehicle. He took a quick look and exclaimed, "Arterial bleeding, lung lobe injury, pneumothorax, difficulty breathing, and low blood volume. There's no time to send him to the hospital. Prepare for surgery on the spot!"
- As Archie Harper spoke, beads of cold sweat had already broken out on his forehead.
- He was the thoracic surgery expert at the Alliance Hospital in Rodon and the most esteemed surgical professor in the entire city. However, he was trembling deep down in his heart at that moment because the person lying on the ground was Robert Cohen.
- And because Robert's injuries were too severe, the chance of saving the man was less than thirty percent!
- If Robert died, Archie would also be implicated.
- Puff! After taking a deep breath, Archie immediately opened the surgical kit, and his left hand was probing the wound.
- "It's a gunshot wound. Nurse, get the suction, prepare the forceps, and shine the light in!"
- Archie crouched down with a serious expression.
- At that moment, Robert, who was on the ground, suddenly began to gasp rapidly, and his face was turning purple.
- "Oh, no! Ventilator! Quickly!" Archie's mind was almost blank.
- Excessive blood loss, difficulty breathing, heart damage, and so on. Every situation was critical. It would take four experts operating simultaneously to have a chance of saving him.
- Now? There was only temporary surgical equipment and only himself!
- "Step aside!" Cyrus walked over and said to Archie calmly.
- Archie swallowed hard and raised his head in confusion.
- Cyrus had already taken the knife from Archie's hand. His tone was calm, as if he was teaching a junior doctor. "The first step in being a doctor is to keep a clear head! If you can't even distinguish priorities, you don't deserve to hold the knife."
- "I..." Archie didn't know what to say.
- Cyrus' knife went directly down Robert's chest. Then, he took the tweezers, pressed with two fingers, and with a "chirp," he pulled out the bullet.
- "Give me a needle and thread," he said calmly.
- Archie's eyes lit up, after which he hurriedly grabbed the needle and thread. He assisted Cyrus personally.
- With both hands, Cyrus quickly sutured the blood vessels inside the wound before saying, "In the wilderness battlefield, disinfection is secondary, and time is the most precious. Also, the patient is breathing rapidly, but the most critical issue is the ruptured blood vessels and massive blood loss. Now, you need to focus on the main problems, not the minor ones. It's done. Now, give him oxygen. Also, do not suture the chest. Immediately take him to the operating room for further treatment."
- Cyrus remained as calm as water from start to finish.
- His hands were steady as a mountain.
- Robert, on the ground, was completely out of danger.
- Archie looked at Cyrus in amazement. How can this young man achieve such skills and easily remove the bullet with just two fingers? Just by feeling his way around, he could even suture the blood vessels! How rich is this person's experience?!
- "Sir, come with me. Please get in the ambulance." Archie pulled Cyrus into the ambulance.
- Then, the ambulance rushed toward the operating room at the Alliance Hospital...
