• Lilian's eyes widened in surprise, and for a moment, Liam thought he had gotten through to her. But then she started to cry, big, crocodile tears rolling down her cheeks.
• "I didn't mean to get her captured," she wailed. "I cannot believe you accused me of something like this when I was just trying to tell you the truth. I was trying to save you from her!"
• "Lilian, I love you," Liam said, stepping closer to her. "But you have to understand that Nicole is important to me. She's part of the pack now, and I can't just abandon her."
