Chapter 30

• Ginevra Descending the stairs, I follow a narrow footpath to a small gate separating the patio from the flowery garden. As we walk through the colorful garden and the big trees, I comment on what my mother is growing from time to time. To be honest, she doesn’t even do it herself, she simply instructs maids and then buys flowers from an expensive shop. It gets rather awkward as I am solely talking about the flowers, and he is staring around with a creepy grin. I feel him get increasingly closer as we walk over the grass fields and cobble-stoned paths before we enter a small labyrinth leading to a fountain. I’m impressed that he hasn’t stopped me with a mean comment already and I find myself struggling to feel comfortable.
